YIELD is the best album ever, by any band, at any time.

There's an amazing yield thread at the red mosquito, it givesn a great in depth view of the album. Worth a look if you ever get a chance.

Yields pearl jams best, and it's damn good. But best ever is a huge title..

Jar of flies is really growing on me at the moment. Beautiful record.

Oh man, did you ever. I saw those Philly setlists, a ton of YIELD in those. You got to hear PUSH ME PULL ME and DAYZ.....not to mention FAITHFULL. Those sets were so freaking rad it isn't even funny.

I notice they didn't feel the need to play much riot act over that stand. I think that's an official statement. Come on, son.

There's no fighting Fanch on this one.

BTW, 10/30/09 is when I finally got to hear In Hiding live (after 15 previous shows) and at the end, Eddie said it was the loudest he had ever heard the crowd sing it... is it a coincidence that I was there in Sect 102 singing my heart out to it??? I think not. 8-)

Agreed, except Low Light sounds like a fucked up lullaby and VS. still beats the record by a nose ;) ..

Its a great, great album, but I can't say best ever by any band. Not while The Downward Spiral exists. It is equal to Yield. Sorry!

If Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Beatles never existed you might be right.

Not the best album of all time, but probably PJ's best. No Code and Yield were their musical peak. I'm not talking about commercial success, or that their music has declined since then. I'm talking about the "sound." Both are just sonically majestic. It's the flow, production, the order of the tracks, the wide range of influences (especially on No Code). Oh yeah, and Jack Irons. (Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Matt Cameron fan too.)

Seriously, if you haven't read this thread on RM, go read it.

I think Vitalogy is the best, but Yield second. Probably both behind Abbey Road but not much else.

True. There will never be another 'Dark Side of The Moon'. Or 'Abbey Road' or 'Sgt. Pepper' or 'The Beatles' or 'Led Zeppelin IV' or 'Physical Grafitti'. (add 'Who's Next', 'Quadrophenia' and 'Tommy').
'Yield' IS a great album (my favorite remains, 'Vs.')... but, those aformentioned album are in a completely different league.
