If Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Beatles never existed you might be right.
  • Not the best album of all time, but probably PJ's best. No Code and Yield were their musical peak. I'm not talking about commercial success, or that their music has declined since then. I'm talking about the "sound." Both are just sonically majestic. It's the flow, production, the order of the tracks, the wide range of influences (especially on No Code). Oh yeah, and Jack Irons. (Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Matt Cameron fan too.)
  • There's an amazing yield thread at the red mosquito, it givesn a great in depth view of the album. Worth a look if you ever get a chance.

Seriously, if you haven't read this thread on RM, go read it.

I think Vitalogy is the best, but Yield second. Probably both behind Abbey Road but not much else.

True. There will never be another 'Dark Side of The Moon'. Or 'Abbey Road' or 'Sgt. Pepper' or 'The Beatles' or 'Led Zeppelin IV' or 'Physical Grafitti'. (add 'Who's Next', 'Quadrophenia' and 'Tommy').
'Yield' IS a great album (my favorite remains, 'Vs.')... but, those aformentioned album are in a completely different league.
