about what i expected a split, though I wasn't sure what to expect from Burnett. He did a nice job with the curveball, which I'd guess averaged around 83-84 and the way he handled Howard by striking him out three times was tremendous.

At the beginning of the night, the Phillies fans were loud and rowdy,

as I was leaving the Pearl Jam concert at Spectrum,
I saw MANY Phillies fans leaving ( before the game had officially ended )

things got mysteriously quiet-er compaared to before the game .
i guess that fianl score had alot to do with that .

Also- PJ kept the scorecard girl coming out ( twice ) the first time it was 1-0 Phillies then the second ( and final time ) was 3-0 Phillies.
I guess PJ didnt want to incite the Phillies fans cuz
once the Yankees took hold ( and the lead )
we didnt see scorecard lady anymore.

aside from baseball, all of the Pearl Jam Philly Spectrum shows are legendary.
    thanks boys .

    :)

    hot damn!

i can't believe damon took 3rd like that in the 9th. when he started running, i automatically thought that he thought the ball was thrown into the outfield. pretty crazy... great great heads up.

    Lee again tonight.

Do we knockem off tonight, or bring it on home to The Bronx ?

  • tonight's a toss-up, in my opinion. could go either way. If I had my choice, I'd prefer they win it at home, but in real life, I'd rather they just end it ASAP

  • To me -- today, the city has a quiet anxious excitement to it. Nobody is boasting or over confident but you can tell .....there's a little --hidden sense .....ready to pop.

Not sure what to think about tonight. Can go either way. Either Lee continues to be lights out and we come back home. Or I can see the bats finally really waking up as maybe there is a more relaxed / less pressure feeling amongst the players today?

Obviously the pressures on Philly now at home and on the brink .

I hear ( on the WFAN ) Melky is likely out and Gardener will fill his spot.

They cant put Damon into center, he can barely handle left , but we need his bat .

Philly thumbing their nose at the baseball gods ?

    Take a look at this:

    World Series Winners?

The Yankees should hang this in their locker room.
Inquirer Sorry For Bogus Phillies Ad
The Philadelphia Inquirer has apologized to readers for printing a Macy’s ad celebrating the Philadelphia Phillies victory over the Yankees in the World Series.

MyFoxPhilly.com was the first to report on the bogus Macy’s ad that appeared in today’s Inquirer. The newspaper later issued a statement, which deeply apologized for the error.

Slideshow: Newspaper Ad Gives Series To Phillies

The New York Yankees have a commanding 3-1 lead in the Series over the Phillies

"A Macy's advertisement in today's Inquirer incorrectly offered Phillies 2009 World Championship merchandise. The Inquirer deeply regrets this error. Macy's is a great corporate citizen, supporter of this region and our sports teams. We apologize for this error and any inconvenience this caused," said Howard Griffin, Vice President, National Advertising.

The ad features a T-shirt from Majestic that has a giant logo, with “Philadelphia Phillies 2009 Back-to-Back World Series champions.”

The same T-shirt is not for sale on Macy’s Web site.

The Phillies won the World Series in 2008.

Melky is out with a strained hamstring. Gardner will take over CF. And Ramiro Pena will fill in the roster spot for Melky.
