So if only 15,000 are at the show and it's not a sellout, should PJ not play there? They played for 9,000 at Pistoia. Should they not have played there either?

I don't know..I just was looking for a reason to mention that tickets are still available for Camden.
There, I did it again.0 -
Do you think it helps that the band did not tour this area in support for their last album? Maybe they lost some casual fans because of that. I mean if you were not paying attention then the last time they played around the area was in 2003 in charlotte (easy to miss the VfC tour in ashville) so maybe many people don't even know pj is still making music.
The population of Columbia is 116,278. The population of the entire state of South Carolina is 4.3 million.
8.1 million people live in New York City alone.
I don't think most people who asked for them to tour the south wanted them to play every little town in the south because of the sparse population. I think what many wanted was a reasonable tour like they did in the past. Play Atlanta, Charlotte, some shows in florida, and some shows in texas etc.
I don't understand why fans of pearl jam can't be happy that fans in other areas are able to see the band they like so much without having to take a plane ride to do it.
I don't mind driving 3.5 hours from atlanta to columbia to see a show. I rather them play atlanta so i did not have to do that but i'm up for it.Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -
I'm in for SC. I'm getting from Bonnaroo to there by driving to Nashville, dropping Roo rental car , flying to Columbia by way of Charlotte ( decent price my travel agent said) , and I'll be in Columbia by 12:30pm on the 16th. Fuck driving The Roo to Columbia. I'm hitting 13 shows . There'll be enough time for driving between 6/11 and 6/30."Buy the ticket, take the ride"

I think some of us are wrong in judging the south shows or any PJ shows that are not quick sellouts. In reality very very few concerts sell out right away even shows in clubs and theatres. It takes a lot of people to fill up these arenas and with PJ shows having predominately male audiences that makes it tough to fill up arenas in medium sized markets. An example of concerts not selling out would be the Police's upcoming shows.0

The actual seats in Hartford are sold out. Its only lawn left and those things last forever...0

Whoa, where did THAT come from?? Not many South Carolinians on the Play the South thread.....I'm probably the most vocal (maybe not) but check yourself, you're supposed to be one of us. I'm pulling for Texas! I still think it will happen for you!
On another note: where do you people want to meet up in ColaTown? I'm thinking we should just tailgate in the parking lot....? Or maybe in Drew's room? Aren't you staying at the Hampton Inn? Just kidding but it'll be sweeet, you can walk.
Can't wait,

Anyways, if they're any international fans out there that are considering fly over, might want to try the south shows.
have fun everyone!
No one has anything to fear about me.....believe me. I will agree with you that at times - I do appear to come off that way (in writing) But in my own defense - I have read FAR worse from others on this board. Everyday - I swear off of this thing! i really don't care if the shows don't sell out...
i wish i was there by myself.
Esther's here and she's sick?
hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks0 -
You cant judge by selling out, there is either alot of people at a show or not, youy cant count on rafter or lawn seats. Some people have religion I have Pearl Jam.
no more shows0 -
dangerboy wrote:er, there aren't any lawn seats at an indoor arena. nosebleeds = lawn for all intents and purposes...
I understand your point, but I disagree with that actually. The sound is almost always better anywhere inside of an arena compared to any place on the lawn. I saw Dave Mattehws last year in Hartford from the lawn, could honestly barely hear them. One of the quieter songs I missed entirely.0
