Most bands can now only get 8 to 10 percent of a show's tickets because they run up against tight contracts between Ticketmaster and the venues. In the touring business, concert sites such as the Tweeter Center and Bank of America Pavilion make agreements with Ticketmaster to sell tickets and charge customers a fee for that service. Ticketmaster then shares part of the service fees with the music promoter and the venue, but not the bands.
"Most Bands" I tried to find it but couldnt but I read in a rollingstone that Pearl jam had one of the best fan club deals worked out, so who the hell knows. Hopefully we all get tix.

Thanks for posting that link!
I dont know how long you "other people" have been buying tickets but this was big news when it went in place because it didn't sound fair and of course again it seemed like Ticketmaster was trying to regulate tickets even more than they always did..... that's why 10C can not promise a ticket to everyone for the MSG on 2003 god knows what they did and how they cut that deal where they offered every fan a ticket but that's not the norm and it certainly wasn't like that on 2006 there was people shut out of tickets for some shows, so if the fact that fanclubs have limits wasn't true then nobody would be shut out of tickets, now would they?"Without the album covers, where do you clean your pot?" - EV0 -

that's the trick though, that if you want tickets then you need to be there on time and not expect to get home at 5pm and still find them....
there was people that were shut out Cleveland show on 2006, I was online at the very first minute for all sales and got tickets for The Gorge, Jersey and Philly though Philly took me longer, on one of them I got temporarily outta stock several times until i was finally able to buy them..."Without the album covers, where do you clean your pot?" - EV0 -

that was basically the '95 tour, right??
as for the 8-10% thing...that article also said that some bands have better deals. i would think PJ is one of those bands. I just hope everyone gets ticks to whatever show they want to go to. i know either way, whether i get fanclub or not, i'll be going, but i just hope this all works out OK.6/26/98, 8/17/00, 10/8/00, 12/8/02, 12/9/02, 4/25/03, 5/28/03, 6/1/03, 6/3/03, 6/5/03, 6/6/03, 6/12/03, 6/13/03, 6/15/03, 6/18/03, 6/21/03, 6/22/03, 7/12/03, 7/14/03, 10/3/04, 10/5/04, 9/9/05, 9/11/05, 9/16/05, 5/16/06, 5/17/06, 5/19/06, 6/30/06, 7/23/06, 8/5/07, 6/30/08, 8/23/09, 8/24/09, 5/4/10, 5/7/10, 9/3/11, 9/4/11, 10/11/13, 10/17/14, 8/20/160 -
Flagg wrote:Was this the case in Camden in 2006? Because my number is 262xxx and ended we ended up in the back of the 200s section. That's a lot more than 10% of the total of the venue.
Well, that could be because of the huge lawn, the Camden venue's (it's gone through 4 different names through 4 different tours) capacity is 25,000. Of that only about 7,000 are non lawn seats. So if ten club gets 2,500 tickets for the venue it probably gets every non season ticket holder seat in the 100 level and probably just the middle section of the 200 level which is why your seats may have been where they were.- Busted down the pretext

That is correct. But they did oversell MSG, they sent letters asking people to trade tickets to PNC for better seats. I didn't fall for that thank GOD!!Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!0 -
if the 10% thing is true, then MSG holds about 20K, so 10C will get about 2000 tickets.
does anyone know how much 2000 will cover in MSG? the whole floor plus the sides? half the floor + sides?
if that is the case, then i think getting 10C tickets, even if you have a really high #, will land you a pretty decent seat.my signature.0 -

There is no way TM and MSG allow the entire floor to go to the fan club. The venue is divided into blocks and allocated. TM gets certain "prime seats" as well. On top of that, the promoter and venue get small blocks. It all gets pretty carved out and complicated.0 -

it is.
in fact, i remember first reading about this 'new rule' here.....from rubysdad and/or kat on the topic, i think for the 2006 tour.
btw - EVEN with the 7K and 8K 10c tix in 2003, there was NOT enough for all! doesn't anyone remember they oversold night 2 and offered 10c tix to the holmdel show if you were willing to relinquish your MSG tix? i remember b/c i took that trade. given my 10c # and knowing they oversold, i knew i'd be sitting in the toilets. also figured since there wasn't 10c tix offered for holmdel, would make my sets even sweeter. add in that block seating was still in effect in 2003, i got there early and i scored 11th row!and, i simply bought another 10c member's spare ticket for MSG night 2. night 1 was not oversold, so no problem.
there were many people shut out of tix for the 2006 tour, i remember reading about it here on the board. i am sure they managed to get tix elsewhere...but yes, not 10c tix. i definitely forsee it happening again for this limited run as well. they do not have unlimited fanclub tix anymore.....so it is what it is.
and i agree, about 2K 10c tix, or 1K pairs. it WILL mean those with 10c seats, even with the highest #s, will have far better sets than in the past, simply b/c there will be fewer 10c seats. i even remember that for east rutherford 2, i found my 10c seats to be far better, and i think that is why.Stay with me...
