if the 10% thing is true, then MSG holds about 20K, so 10C will get about 2000 tickets.
does anyone know how much 2000 will cover in MSG? the whole floor plus the sides? half the floor + sides?
if that is the case, then i think getting 10C tickets, even if you have a really high #, will land you a pretty decent seat.
There is no way TM and MSG allow the entire floor to go to the fan club. The venue is divided into blocks and allocated. TM gets certain "prime seats" as well. On top of that, the promoter and venue get small blocks. It all gets pretty carved out and complicated.
is this 10% thing a new rule? at the 7/9/03 show eddie said that 8,000 10c members were at the show, and the night before 7,000 were there.
it is.
in fact, i remember first reading about this 'new rule' here.....from rubysdad and/or kat on the topic, i think for the 2006 tour.
btw - EVEN with the 7K and 8K 10c tix in 2003, there was NOT enough for all! doesn't anyone remember they oversold night 2 and offered 10c tix to the holmdel show if you were willing to relinquish your MSG tix? i remember b/c i took that trade. given my 10c # and knowing they oversold, i knew i'd be sitting in the toilets. also figured since there wasn't 10c tix offered for holmdel, would make my sets even sweeter. add in that block seating was still in effect in 2003, i got there early and i scored 11th row! and, i simply bought another 10c member's spare ticket for MSG night 2. night 1 was not oversold, so no problem.
there were many people shut out of tix for the 2006 tour, i remember reading about it here on the board. i am sure they managed to get tix elsewhere...but yes, not 10c tix. i definitely forsee it happening again for this limited run as well. they do not have unlimited fanclub tix anymore.....so it is what it is.
and i agree, about 2K 10c tix, or 1K pairs. it WILL mean those with 10c seats, even with the highest #s, will have far better sets than in the past, simply b/c there will be fewer 10c seats. i even remember that for east rutherford 2, i found my 10c seats to be far better, and i think that is why.
