  • Well will finally give my review of the best concert I have ever attended in my life. I will try ot be brief avoid rambling paragraphs on the sbuject:

    High-Lights:

    - Flying into Vancouver just hours before the show and getting my FRIST ROW SEATS 17-19 10C Tickets!!! Thanks 10C made my year and will never for get being able to watch the show with no one in front of me or pushing to be next to me looking right at EV. AMAZING!

    - Pre-party was excellant and got to meet some amazing people to share stores with. Once again big thumbs up to restlesssoul for the pre-party, amazing time.

    - Ben Harper was great, first time for me seeing him live. One thing I did notice is the amount of seats that were filled for Ben Harper, never seen so many seats filled for the opener. Great job Vancouver was nice to see people fill the seats for Ben. At that moment I believed it was a great show as Ed enjoys good support for the opener.

    - In My Tree to open was totally off guard and I would have never guessed it. When Ed came out and looked around the stadium in complete awe (as did I) once again gave me the feeling of something special. The crowd was rocking right from the start.

    - Shout out to the tall dude beside me all night who passed me the bottle of wine during Alive. i apolgoize for being crazy the entire show, trust me my body still hurts from the jumping into the steel and head banging all night! Also great guy from NYC over to the righ of me, awesome people all around us.

    - Before more song talk lets talk about the crowd. I have never ever seen a crowd like this before. It has been mentioned but I need to re-iterate the point people were rocking the fuck out. It was ballastic at some points, people up high rocking out, peopel behind the stage going bonkers, us in the front row jumping around like lunatics. FUCKING GRADE A crowd!!! Everyone was standing and rocking out, was something beyond special. Sorry to those who adamantly believe the songs on the set-list make a concert great, but actually the crowd energy propells a concert to greatness. I would rather have a show with all mainstream songs (which this concert had a great mix of old/new/rare/play every night tunes, just the perfect balance for all type of fan) and crowd like we experience over a bunch of rarities with no crowd energy.

    - Save You has never been my favourite song BUT wow I appreciate that tune after the show, every show I have attended has had Save You played and Ed always trys to get the crowd clapping usually to a pitiful effort from the crowd. Not tonight everyone was clapping, was off the hook.

    - All the new tunes sound great, The Fixer got the crowd into a frenzy.

    - Light Years was amazing great tune that I had been dying to hear. The Terry Fox tribute was total class act by PJ (thumbs up to that).

    - Grievance kicked my ass and provided me sypmtoms of whip-lash continuing as I type.

    - No Way was fucking brilliantly done, with a kick-ass jam at the end.

    - RVM was amazing as always, seen a video up on YouTube and watching me head-bang from the front row I cannot believe I am not in worse pain.

    - First encore seemed too perfect. I GOT SHIT! my favourite all time tune follwed by LROM (which I have never witnessed such a powerful singing performance of a single tune before this). When Breath was busted out, us in the first row became unglued and I was fighting off tears. Was not expecting this song that tribute's a great crowd at all so it blind-sided me and to be in the front row for this put me over the top. I literally collapsed when it first started playing. SOLAT after was just too much. Alive was epic with the crowd, just epic the YouTube videos are amazing of this. ONCE AGAIN OFF THE CHART ENCORE

    - Last Kiss was played to great fanfare to the people in the back. Not a huge fan of the song but it received a great reception and that is what matters.

    - Once again did I mention the crowd, like fucking seriously that was outrageous the energy in that building. Not once did I see someone looking bored, fucking amazing. I cannot say fuck or amazing enough to describe the crowd.

    Low-Lights:

    - My body hurts everywhere still.

    - First row may be the only time but once in a lifetime is better than never.

    - Seeing some comments about the Seattle crowd thing, who cares I have been to a concert that got dissed a few shows later (Edmonton dissed in Winnipeg), guess what that Edmonton show deserved it. I am not trying to start a pissing match but to top that crowd in Vancouver will take a mighty effort, so I hope later shows meet or can raise the bar.

Anyway I cannot wait for this boot.
  • Oh another thing....Stone "I am Rocking the Fuck Out" Gossard. I know from the Calgary V-Fest show that he is picking up the energy...BUT WOW in Vancouve he was off the hook head banging as much as I was and played an enourmous amout of time beside Mike/Jeff.

My best friend and I were talkin about Stone all night, fuck me was he ever rocking out!
  • everywhere i looked in the crowd last night, people were going nuts. behind the stage, in the uppers, lowers. dudes with no shirts dancing their guts out in the nosebleeds, other dudes singing every word arm in arm, putting eachother in headlocks, high fiving. chicks dancing, swaying with arms around one another. TONS of lighters for appropriate songs, beach ball being pass throughout the floor. as Ed said " it's friday night, and its on!!" there was just a magic in that place last night. everywhere you looked you could see it in peoples faces, and we fed off eachother, and got louder, the band in turn, fed of us, in turn taking us to higher heights. seriously. it sounds cheesy, but it was a circle of energy happening last night that was undeniable. we knew , the band new it. it was special.

sorry guys, just still reeling from last night...trying to convey what happened in there. it was the best ever.

And to think I read a thread about someone complaing about this type of behaviour in Seattle the other day!!!! Wow I am glad I was at the show that included this behaviour because this was me all night and everyone else around me.

Could not have explained the crowd energy better myself!

I cannot get into a work mood because I feel like I am still at GM Place!

Will never know, but pretty sure the little nod and smile at :30 was to me, after Ed caught me also singing along to the melody line.

Or it was just gas. But I'm pretty sure! :)

No, it was a nod to ME!!!! ;) I'm 1000% SURE!

  • Really amazing show. Got to see this with my friend Chris who I met bc of Pearl Jam, ten years ago. :)

Was a little -- ehh- when Ed dissed the Seattle crowd-- HELLO, there were MANY Seattle fans who drove up to Vancouver too! Whatever!!!

I won the lottery and got 2nd row Mike's side, twas truly a treat and caught a pick mid-air too.

Thanks for playing Vancouver, was worth the full search on leaving your country. I had a good reason to visit my friends up North and got a killer high energy show! Reminded me of the energy when I saw them in Vancouver in 2005.

My friend Loretta would have been proud-- she passed away a few years ago and would have been at this show with me otherwise.

  • Best concert ever! I was one of those crazy people going bonkers behind the stage upper bowl. I must say I thought my seats would be pretty crappy but they were pretty fantastic. I felt super close to the stage and the band really knows how to work the whole room. I brought my boyfriend who isn't the biggest Pearl Jam fan in the world, but now he is sold on them and their live show and can't wait to see them again. Yay! I've been a fan since my early high school days and have been lucky to have seen them many a time over the years and even though I haven't been as fanatically into them these last few years as I was in 1993, I am always blown away by their live shows and keep coming back for more. This concert was so amazing I can't stop thinking about it and it was so good I joined the fan club yesterday. Yeah I did.
  • Amazing show! Row 3 on Stone's side. Thanks as always 10C. Love the new music. "The Fixer" and "Unthought Known" sound so great live and are so much fun to dance to. Would have loved to have heard the beautiful "Just Breathe" but I can't complain as we got it night one in Seattle (the crowd where I stood was great by the way.....it's interesting how differently people can experience the same thing :) Can't wait for show # 20, wherever and whenever that might be.....

    Ahhhhhh...
What a fucking PRIVILEGE to be FRONT ROW at my hometown show and get a set list like that.
Oh and to be rocking out beside restlesssoul as well.

Of the four shows I went to this tour (seattle vancouver portland) this show was untouchable.

  • I have to say this is the best show I have ever been in I was in utter disbelief when they played In My Tree, State of Love and Trust, Breath and No Way. It was the second time this week I had the pleasure of seeing that song that I have been waiting so long to hear. And that's not even to mention Amongst the Waves, I screamed it right before they announced what it was, and everyone in my section looked at me like I was crazy, but I couldn't help it I was so excited!!

  • Best Show I have ever Been too!!! The crowd was amazing and I truly believe something special happened that night.
  • I can't believe how lucky you people in Vancouver are...

BREATH !!!!!! I GOT SHIT!! NO WAY !!.....after 14 shows I always wanted to hear them live and now you have them all in one show......
  • I was the dude wearing the "Equalizer" shirt (glows and flows to the beat of the music) in the 11th row!! Was walking down to my seats when asked by a sercurity guy, where I got my shirt. He then said "Eddie likes it". I was then brought over to the sound booth (while Ben was playing) and there stands Eddie Vedder (in disguise)!!! He shoke my hand and asked me where I got it. He wanted it and I said I would give it to him after the show. It never happened and I should of set it up better but man...I was stunned. Anyway I hugged him and he slipped a guitar pick in my pocket. If somehow Eddie reads this (doubt it) then let him know that I will give him the shirt!!!!!!! Best show ever!!!!!!!!!!!
