have to say my biggest issue with a few songs is - some i really like the music, dislike the lyrics and/or phrasings - others i really like the lyrics, tho not necessarily the delivery, but not sold on the music....and then sure, some songs are just meh for me. eh well. however, even with that, i am enjoying the album as a whole a lot more.

Strange to see this written out - I don't dislike Speed of Sound or Supersonic, actually, but that's just where they rank for me with the others.

1.Amongst the Waves (Classic PJ- if you ask me)
2.Got Some (MUCH better than what we heard on Letterman)
3.Johnny Guitar (I think this one would take off on today's "Alt Radio"...vocal phrasing makes me think Killers)
4.Just Breathe
5.The Fixer (great song- regardless of the airplay)
6.Gonna See My Friend (reminds me of some classic STP... grinding rock)
7.Force of Nature (At times I think it's a cliche rocker but I can't get enough of it)
8.Unthought Known (whoever referenced "Straight Lines" was right on... maybe that's why it's #8)
9.The End (beautiful... yet sad)
10.Speed of Sound (good stuff - broadway-tune-ish quality)
11.Supersonic (catchy but generic... sounds like a cover)

(But I like Speed of Sound... I love this record.. although MAN it's a short record. 11 songs that average in length at about 3 minutes.. they slam through this record in about as much time as it takes me to drive home from work.)

I can live with this list, although The Fixer seems way too low. Maybe this is just a sign of how uniformly *good* the album is.
