The board has definately been filled with poison lately. I've been thinking that I need to take a break from this place. Sad at such an exciting time.0

No more SELLOUT threads. No more ED'S VOICE IS SHIT threads. This band is not responsible for YOUR hang-ups with "corporate machines." They are not your saviors and do not need you looking up to them as icons of truth and individuality. That was 1992, fucker. GET REAL.
The band of your youth is gone! Your youth is gone! Grow up, get a job and enjoy the music!
We have a lot of visitors right now who won't be staying...it's temporary. The best thing you can do is stop posting on the negative threads so they sink away. Find a positive thread and post on that...it'll rise to the top.
And just keep listening to what you love...it doesn't matter what others are saying. It's about the music and how it makes YOU feel.I couldn't be happier it's such a great album.

P.S. And if someone is trolling just to argue and get a rise, please report them to us.Falling down,...not staying down0 -

It's not that I don't like it, I just don't think it's as good as people make it out to be. I'm a little dissapointed in it, but that's okay. I said so in a very respectful manner.
One day, you'll grow up and have the life experience to truly appreciate it, my son.

This happened with Binaural and Riot Act too, although maybe not to the same degree. The album is a grower for me ... As I said in another thread, this is not a bad thing.
It's weird. For a few days there, I was thinking this was the first album in a long while to enjoy nearly universal praise on this board.
It's as if all the Debbie Downers were on vacation until today.
This is true. People were loving it for a minute. Now... all sorts of WAHHHHHH hating ass mutha ufckers.0 -

Lol, I've been through a lot. I know life has it's many twist and turns, but my taste in music has stayed pretty solid. As I drummer I used to love Pearl Jam for Dave A's playing on Vs. now I love them for the depth of their music, for the truth in them. No other band has that truth and depth that they have.
That being said I loved Into The Wild as well. Eddie kicked ass on that record. The Speed of Sound demo is good, and I like The End until the violin comes in. Eddie kicks ass, but I feel as if everything that Brendan did really make the songs over crowded, and mask the beauty of Stone and Mike.
Again, it's a solid record, but in my eyes it doesn't compare to anything else they've done. You may love it because it's different, it's a breath of fresh happy, it's a happy go lucky record, but to me it comes off as a little to poppy and catchy for my liking.0 -

Pearl Jam fan from the beginning and a huge fan for the past 9 albums. And YES! I love Backspacer!!!!!!!
Not all of us older fans are complaining about this great album and I could care less about the Target deal.
But come on dude. "The band of your youth is gone!Your youth is gone!" I might be older but I still have my youth and my band is still here with me.0 -

Thanks for the pictures! Priceless!
Kat's right, though.... I know it's hard to bit your tongue and say nothing....but sometimes that is the best thing and let it die away....
People come here to vent and then they're gone....we are not helping the cause when we continue to feed the fire... I've been guilty of that myself, getting in the heat of the moment and losing sight of myself, not realizing how i am affecting others here. It's how you say it that really makes a difference....
Good to have some people reminding us from time to time...
Nah, I wouldn't want the board to be shut down.... just need to know when to step away for a while and just let them die away, or report them like Kat said....
what would i do without you funny people??!
loving those pictures - so funnnnyyyyyyyyyyy!JA: Why do I get the Ticketmaster question?
EV: It's your band.

i agree, and i'm so tired of the bitching and bickering about *everything*, that i stay away from here most of the time. thanks, flagg. : )“Going to a Pearl Jam concert is like going to church for a lot of fans. There is a synergy with Pearl Jam for fans.”
