It is an officially released improv. The Not For You singles sleeve lists the song as:
"Track 2 Live Improv Atlanta, GA April 2, 1994"
Go here and have a look:

I think of it as a fleshed out improv, a song they were playing around with but then dropped it.Melbourne: March 17 1995, March 18 1995, March 2 1998, February 18 2003, November 13 2006, November 20 2009, January 24 2014, November 16 2024, November 18 2024.
Sydney: November 21 2024, November 23 2024Ed SoloMelbourne: March 24 2011, February 16 20140 -

I dont care if it's "just an improv". So what? It sounds great and would be worth playing live.0 -
used this song as a soundtrack to my 1st skydiving video

I would kill a small animal to hear this song live. A sacrifice if you will.0
-
always just thought of this as an improv...kinda like "fuck me in the brain" or ramblings 3 or whatever that improv was called before interrupted by thrown shoe...few improvs have made it onto official/fanclub releases...but by no means are "official songs" that we will ever hear live again...i think we have a better chance of hearing ed's "homeless" or "just wanted you to know" from his bad radio days before we'd ever hear out of my mindit's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...0
-
but while we are on the topic of improvs...two of my favorite improves are from the 95 tour:
"seven years waiting" or "seven years gone by now" (seen em titled both on several different bootlegs)
and my all time favorite imprive by them:
"open road" this one is just badass, chilling and bluesy...love the line about "all my life i had empty pockets..."it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...0 -

Good luck trying to explain that to these people. They obviously don't get it.0 -
I will personally give everyone on this board $1,000 if they ever play Out of My Mind again.
Not gonna happen.everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do0 -
