I probably won't get any responses to this and that is cool, BUT, you what drives my completely insane about that album, is the FREAK in the audience yelling, "Nirvana Cover Song".

Who goes to a PJ concert and screams for them to play Nirvana?

Sorry, needed to get that off my chest, as you were!!

No I would totally agree, but the crowd and the atmosphere do make that gig and recording what it is, shame about the tit you refer to but what can you do

This is one of those rare records that makes the hairs on your neck stand up, it really is that good, I dream of the days the boys recreate a similar night in the royal albert hall....

You will now!! On Dead Man, go ahead to minute/second, 4:07, you'll hear him yell Nirvana, but he gets get out by the crowd. On the first disc, you can hear him yell, Nirvana Cover Song Baby!!

If for nothing else, it gives you a reason to listen to this again!

I agree, things like that annoy me too. But i just try to block it out and understand that it's raw, real and unedited. PJ's best show in my opinion, idiot yelling or not.

    Wasn't me. I was 3rd level side (stone's) balcony.

It was one of the most magical nights ever. No matter how many times I hear Black from that night, I'm taken back and still get goosebumps after we (the crowd) sing.

  • It wasn't me but the people next to me showed up late, and were very drunk, talked during the show and were kicked out or moved during the show. I was glad to see them go.
Let's see those 2013 dates in the southern states.
  • Black still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. I told my friend that night, I would have flown up from Arizona just to hear Black and Masters of War, they were so good.
Let's see those 2013 dates in the southern states.
  • That version of Masters of War really pisses me off. They are really off at the end of the song. It makes me not want to listen to it.

  • Down-Mike tears this song up
  • Magnificent record, wish they would do another one while we wait for the next studio.
However I think Mike ruins "All or None" when he goes a bit wild on the solo.It required a much more delicate performance IMO.
  • "Nirvana cover song baby....Nirvana cover song!"

    Fucking hate that guy.

  • Is this the same guy who yells "you guys are so gooooood" during the intro to Black?

He gets out of key not just wild. Lots and lots of blubs but I still like BH.

    i like the 1st solo
  • Agreed, 1st solo is sweet, Mikes complete performance on the acoustic Mansfield version is just perfect. Underrated song.

i totally love this show, but i think i listened to the boot more, before i got the official recording. the crowd noise is somehow less annoying, even though the boot is probably recorded from the middle of the audience.

knowing that there's so many dickheads yelling out between songs sometimes makes me reach for some other cd instead of benaroya, or skip through it on my shuffle, even though i adore the music so much.

    benaroya black is indeed chills-worthy.

when my ears ring, my heart beats
  • Well, now I know what the mo fo said.

I always wondered what he yelled out at the beginning of Black.

You know what else pisses me off?? When some dick whistles really loudly during Black, cant remember what part, but its during a really intese bit grrrrrrr

  • You must listen to mikes beautiful take on Mansfield 2003 to see my point.
If I was in the hall that night I would have cheered like crazy whenever Ed would mention Mike but I think there is a time to let loose and a time to to like what Mike did on Mansfields acoustic disc ( a boot everyone should have) so, smile05 if you have it you should appreciate my point of view and......... I bet there is at least one person out there who will agree with me.

ps £sterling aint what it used to be, sorry.
