You must listen to mikes beautiful take on Mansfield 2003 to see my point.
If I was in the hall that night I would have cheered like crazy whenever Ed would mention Mike but I think there is a time to let loose and a time to to like what Mike did on Mansfields acoustic disc ( a boot everyone should have) so, smile05 if you have it you should appreciate my point of view and......... I bet there is at least one person out there who will agree with me.

ps £sterling aint what it used to be, sorry.

I will bet all the money in my pocket you are the only person who thinks this.

Just listen to the applause when Ed says "Mike Mccready"

Mike completely fucks that second solo up. He's way off key......way off. It pretty much ruins what would have been an exceptional version of All Or None.

I don't know exactly what happened. But sounds like his guitar went completely out of tune and flatter than a pancake.

Little mistakes or miscues are cool because they can add an element of uniqueness. But Mike butchers All Or None with that second solo.

  • Just on a side note, I am pretty sure that during Nirvana's unplugged show, someone yells out "Play Jeremy!" I first noticed it after I got the DVD and I burst out laughing.
  • nah, keep that money cos you will need it when PJ arrive in Europe next year!

He doesn't butcher it...he goes out of key for about three and a half seconds..now you want to hear butchered check out eddie van halen playing "jump" on a guitar in a completely different key for the entire song in front of 25,000 people.

I love Nirvana cover baby, guy. Hearing individual people in the crowd gives it that intimate quality. He sure was persistent though.

agreed Mike brings it back at the end of the solo quite beautifully.
Check it out- its on youtube along with Down, and maybe a couple of other songs from benny.

Fuck! I have just listened to it and I think he's done a superb job! Is the guy who posted saying that Mike's guitar is out of tune deaf? Or do we just come from different planets? I find the whole thing superb, maybe I'm not an expert but I love that solo, and the song is one of my all time favourites. I'd kill to hear it live.......
