Anyone Taking The Train?

Anyone taking the train to the Chicago shows?
I will be with my brother and my friend. It will be my 2nd time doing this, the first time being in 2005, but not for a Pearl Jam show; to visit a friend.
The round-trip fare is much cheaper than driving and we can drink without fear of being pulled over. It takes roughly the same amount of time as driving from Michigan.

my brother came out from ohio. his train was only an hour late. the train the day before was about 23 hours late due to a derailment.
my other brother took it once and was 4 hours late
my gf took it once and she was an hour late.
amtrack sucks so bad when it comes to getting anywhere on time. such a shame because i would like to take it sometime, but i don't trust it to get me anywhere on time. on top of that, i can fly to philly for the same price as the train. fucked up.
oh well
good luck to you
Hopefully the band recognizes us for being next to zero carbon emissions and gives us the lottery seats. Add stupid winking emoticon here.
But you do have me worried about being so late. I don't want to sit on the train any longer than I have to. I had considered driving to Champagne and then taking the train from there as it would be much closer to Chicago. That would reduce the risk of being late or as late. hmmmm..... decisions, decisions.
Our train departs at 6:05 am. Plus we change time zones and gain an hour. So even if it took 8 hours which would be 2 hours late, we would be there by 1 pm. 9 hours? 2 pm. 10 hours? 3 pm. All in plenty of time.

May 13,2006...Hartford,CT back on the map!!!
I have relatives who live in Effingham....
Havent been to Effingman in years....
It reminds me of the perfect "small town, USA"...........
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
I actually live an hour south of Effingham.
In an even smaller town.
it is definately considered small town, USA......
The above is very funny considering Ben Folds wrote that song "effington" on his latest cd about effingham, admitting that he messed up and forgot the actual name of the town. sure you all know that though, being from the area and all.
glad it worked out for you.
Absolutely. I'm confident we traveled the best way we could have.
