Where a band has been partway through a song they've been allowed to finish but not start another one once 11pm has passed. As doors opening is 6:30 I can see PJ starting at 8-8:15 to fit in a longer set.
So, shall update the roll call thread, see who's going and maybe arrange a meeting before in a local boozer?
Pub at 5pm for an hour or so, then pick up tickets at 6pm? Or are people just going straight to the venue?we're all going to the same place...0 -

I'll meet with anyone who's interested, but i wont be boozing, a long drive home I'm afraid.
and i'll also be looking to get in nice and early for a good spot.0 -

It's PJ in a 2,000 space theatre, it's going to be brilliant and you're going to have a great time. There probably won't be an extended set or an EV solo slot, but it will be one of the greatest gigs ever.
Yeah but the Astoria show had no support to offset the earlier finish because they had the G-A-Y club thing afterwards. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we get an extended set or some EV solo before hand - maybe wishful thinking though!
Maybe you will, what do I know really? It will be special with or without such bonuses though. Or at least, it will be for those who have a ticket :(If I knew where it was, I would take you there...0 -
Sadly I'm not able to do any pub before the show, going to be fairly near the back as well as I probably won't get to SBE before 7pm by the time I've checked into hotel and caught the tube from Paddington. Though am considering gambling on the fact that they will be done by 11pm which would mean I can get the train back to Devon afterwards. The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits0

Oooh that's good. My husband's travelling down with me, but not coming to the show so at least he can have a mini pub crawl0 -

I went to the Walkabout at Shepherd's Bush last year before I saw Stephen Lynch at SBE, at half five in the evening - I have never seen a room full of so many drunk people! I don't know if it was some sort of Australian national holiday, but it was absolute chaos! People were full on moshing at the bar, loads of people could barely stand up, people falling into you; needless to say we had one swift pint and hightailed it out of there!0 -
good venue but sound is a bit iffy pending on where you stand0

I don't think anyone should expect an extended set or an EV solo set... but I think the chances of a EV set are fair. He's never played anything solo in europe, and a theatre setting is pretty much perfect. We still haven't had a single EV solo so maybe (just maybe) if Ed takes enough pity on us, we'll be lucky.Paul

I dunno, I kind of like to have some of my pint left in my glass when I walk away from the bar!0 -

Best position if short and want a good view is the bottom of the right hand steps next to sound desk - there is a little ledge you can stand on.
Brilliant venue my 2nd favourite behind BrixtonNow it all comes down to numbers, now I'm glad that I have quit

I don't drive so don't know how reliable this is but you could try Westfield shopping centre ... parking apparently open 8am-1am ... it's less than 10 minutes walk from the venue
