I thought this might be of interest to some here... I was looking to see how large the floor capacity was. Turns out it's 1,150. That's pretty tiny. There's all sorts of other info as well.

Yeah it's a really small venue, I've seen a few bands there. I would say it's a similar size to the Astoria.

I knew the stage was low, but it's crazy to realise exactly how low it is... less than 2 1/2ft off the ground.

Which is exactly why I'm glad I chose the balcony; I can't see a thing with a stage that's normal height, never mind one that's barely raised off the ground  Being 5ft is rubbish for concerts!

It's pretty awesome, isn't it? I'm still going "I can't believe I got tickets for it" over and over in my head. I've been very, very lucky with 10C over the past few years.

For you 'shorties' - Tte floor is flat at SB (ie not sloped like at the Brixton Academy).

Glad to see I'm not the only one acting like a 5 year old at Christmas. I'm counting sleeps and when anyone at work asks what I'm doing on the days I have booked off, I can barely get the words out through the widest grin ever and jangling nerves between my stomach to my finger tips. Evey time I get in the car alone, I "whoop" very loudly.

And then they start to back away slowly... some people just don't understand

This is the main drawback of the venue to me. Even for non-shorties, you're not getting to see a whole lot from the floor.

I saw Live at this venue several years back and the view from the floor was fine (and I'm 'only' 5'10"). It was one of the very best gigs I've ever been to, actually.

Should anyone no longer wish to go, however, in light of this information about the low stage then I know someone who'll take your ticket off you (points at self) ;)
If I knew where it was, I would take you there...

Hang on a minute, surely there is no "drawback" about seeing PJ in a venue like this?!? :D The Astoria was awesome and this will be even better - positive thinking always works, trust me!

No no, don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled. I'm just aware of the venue's short-comings. Me, I'll be parked in front of Jeff per usual =D

I know, I was just joking! I saw Mark Lanegan & Isobel Campbell there and I was surprised by how small it was. I don't suppose I'll care about the short-comings when I'm sitting on Stone's lap!

between Jeff and Mike for me ;)

I 'might' have a standing (if not then a L3 almost certainly)..but I'm not sure if I'll queue up or not.. I know I can get within 4-5 rows no matter when I walk in anyway (any other show than PJ that'd be 2-3 easy ;))...so as long as I'm not behind you or SoonForgotten2 (ie tall people) ;)

They won't let you stand on the stairs at SBE, so the lack of a sloped floor becomes more of an issue.
