I THOUGHT IT WAS A GENERAL SALE?????????????????????????
i know you dont want to keep hearing it Wash.. but it was a general sale... i've never received an email, or a special link or anything.. and if i go to the HMV ticket page right now and right there on the front page for anyone to see is the Pearl Jam tickets spot... it's there for anyone to click and buy... not those who only received emails..
sorry
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Yeah, but then why do people keep saying they got emails with special links for the sale?
I prefer that it was a general sale, but it seems that *some* people who preordered had more of a clue by having emails sent to them.
Argh...ignore me dunk, I've reverted to bitterness now :(
Just rang HMV. Only people who complained of issues for their original ticket allocation were due emails.
So I cancelled my order.
Bull. I complained and didn't get a second email
I complained as well over the phone and didn't get one either. Have sent them an email. What they did was they checked my order no and then said I wasn't due an email.

I really feel for everyone who's been fucked about by HMV. I didn't get tickets. The last few days have been disappointing to say the least.
However if someone told me before this tour was announced that I'd get to see PJ twice in two days this year I'd be over the moon so I'm going to try and put this whole shambles behind me and look forward to Manchester and the O2. Good luck trying to get tickets if you're going the tout route, I can't afford that sort of money!!
THAT'S ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha too funny!!!!!!! (this is andshewas not Solace23...)
What show was that at?
1992 - London ULU 1993 - London Finsbury Park - Brixton Academy x2 1995 - Reading Festival (with Neil Young) 1996 - London Wembley Arena x2 2000 - London Wembley Arena 2006 - Later With Jools Holland - Reading Festival 2007 - London Wembley Arena 2009 - London Shepherd's Bush Empire - O2 Arena 2010 - London Hyde Park 2012 - London Hammersmith Apollo x2 (EV solo)
I guess it's easy for me to say because I do have tickets, but one must put this in perspective. There were only really a handful of tix to be had for a lot of fans. Seems level 1 has been 'booked out' for VIP's, etc. Doesn't leave that many tix for the 'masses'. Yes... some are on Ebay and on reselling sites, I know.... but it was a long shot for any of us. Somehow I managed tickets through the presale (though I never got a confirmation screen as it timed out on me), when I got home I had an e-mail saying I had them. Also, I was lucky enough (if you can call it luck) to be able to get a disabled ticket, thus my HMV ones went to those without.
Yes there are defo 3 balconys, I was one "Level 1" for Chris Cornell this year. So it still begs the question, where were the level 1 tickets sold?
One of the pictures posted lists Level 1 as "VIP & Guest Area". Could well be quite a few freebies floating around for this if you mix in the right circles. Which I don't :(
There were a lot of 'industry' people (including other musicians and celebs) at the Astoria - this will be the same.
At least two of us have reports from confirmed sources that NO industry types have been allocated tickets for Shep Bush. If there ARE any going around they will have been few and far between despite previous shows...

We are writing to you in response to your recent enquiry in regards to the Pearl Jam CD pre-order / ticket offer.
We are sorry that you experienced issues with the hmv tickets site on Tuesday 21st July. As you can imagine, this offer was extremely popular and as a result the web site did at times struggle to cope with the volume of people trying to purchase tickets. We are also aware that at times the volume of traffic led to confusing messages being presented to customers attempting to purchase tickets, leading customers to conclude either that the link did not work or that tickets were sold out either prior to 9am or within just a few minutes of 9am.
We would like to reassure you no orders were processed before 9am BST on Tuesday 21st July 2009 and tickets continued to be purchased by pre-sale customers for around 30 minutes.
Once again, please accept our sincere apologies if you were unable to purchase tickets in the hmv pre-sale; as you may appreciate the return of such a high profile band such as Pearl Jam caused unprecedented demand.

I'm surprised.... I was told by SB that no level 1 seats were made available. But this being a promo show, one would expect them to be there.

Are they having a laugh? This in response to my fuming letter demanding an explanation from a REAL person not an automated email!
under the Freedom of Information Act you could request the actual server log to find out at what exact time those tickets were purchased at... you dont need to ask for private details... just a time log of their sale time...
its a bit extreme and all that... but it'd be fun to do seeing as how i get FOI requests at my work quite a bit...

Now that IS weird and I do know shows previously where lots of industry have filled that level out. The only thing I can think of that they were the seats bought up by the 02 for their pre-sale which it seems never happened? Or maybe the industry are having a big party there and have all been told to keep quiet or be fired ;-) Man, if there are all those seats sitting there waiting to be bought - well, we know a few folks who could fill them!
I wonder if SBE can be persuaded to explain WHO the seats ARE for then?

This is from an e-mail sent to someone who complained to Ticketweb:
"We would also like to inform you that TicketWeb only had a small allocation of tickets for this event as tickets were also allocated to 3rd parties and other agents. "
Seems 3rd parties is important enough to mention.
I'm thinking other agents would be HMV (who did not have many it would seem) and '3rd parties' would be 'industry'.

this was my reply from Ticketweb.. after having them in my basket getting to the last screen and then they go.. I must say I prefer ticketmaster now at least you have ten min to compete your order and they hold the tickets for you... my payment has even been authorised on my account I did give them a real blasting today...
Thank you for your feedback.
There was an extremely large volume of traffic through our website for the Pearl Jam on sale and no general system errors have been reported by our technical team. If you experienced a long wait whilst trying to obtain tickets, this was due to the sheer weight of numbers trying to access the site. If you did not receive a reference number, it is likely that you do not have a booking.
We would also like to inform you that TicketWeb only had a small allocation of tickets for this event as tickets were also allocated to 3rd parties and other agents.
Once ticket selection has taken place, the customer must click the “Add to Cart” icon to proceed to the next phase of the booking process. Here, customers are once again presented with the event details, including the event, venue, time and location of the tickets that have been selected. The customer then has to confirm whether they wish to continue with the booking, by clicking on the “Proceed To Secure Order Form” icon at the bottom of the page. The booking is not confirmed until you have been given a confirmation number. The money has not been debited from your account, although it may show as being taken.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused- unfortunately when demand so exceeds supply, some disappointment is inevitable. Customers are advised to keep checking back to our site in case more tickets become available closer to the date of the events.
