If they're still in your basket maybe worth trying putting them through again? After all, if it's in your basket surely that should mean it is reserved for you to buy?

It comes up with reservation failed if I try to checkout with them.

That was the biggest failure with this system, having them in your basket did not reserve the tickets. A fucking amateur mistake for a ticket booking site. Even my local town hall website has a ticket reservation system.

Bottom line, this should've been a 10c gig. Put tickets up for sale for 10c members for a certain time and then whatever's left go to HMV or TM or whoever.

    Simples ?

This is a bloody good idea and I am sure it is doable. Surely 10c know how many UK / Ireland members there are? They could assume a venue based on that info and sell the first lot of tickets to us via 10c and then any spare could go on general sale. Come on 10c how about it?

I am going to make an official complaint to the booking agent, ITB, about HMV's behaviour and I will try to count up as many as poss who have lost out. Ok so we might be just angry fans but we are fans who bothered to join the 10c and who have lost out. Surely the actual fans are the people that Pearl Jam want to play shows for anyway so I do think it is a valid complaint! It won't change anything this time around but maybe next time they play here, they will somehow be able to do a 10c gig.

I guess most of us are just pissed off because we didn't get a ticket but the reality is that most of us would have been left disappointed even if the system had worked perfectly but I'm still irrational enough to be pissed off about how the whole thing was managed or not in this case.

We are pissed at not getting tickets, but I'm more annoyed at the, by my count, 5 separate lies in the HMV Terms and Conditions of the presale.
I agree HMV have made a complete arse of this but I have been the benficiary of tickets going on sale before 9 in the past and as it's not an exact science i would have imagined everybody would have been trying from about 8.55 onwards. Don't get me wrong HMV have messed up big time but all we can do is stop our pre-orders and hope in the future HMv get their act together. I don't think they intentionally misled us they just f**ked up.

Wembley was as near to a 10C gig as we're likely to get IMO, the whole floor was sold to 10c members exclusively.
The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits

I don't particularly mind the fact that they went on sale a few minutes early. I do mind that the stated that "The ticket pre-sale starts on Tuesday 21st July 2009 at 09:00 GMT on the hmvtickets website, only accessible via your unique email link. "

The link was not unique, and tickets were not only accessible by that link anyway. That must have been intentional. The fucked up on putting tickets up early, and not sending the link to some who preordered the album, but lying in order to get sales of the album, is fucking pitiful.

Not very good at posting links but this is the Ticketweb link for Thursday morning sale at 9am...

should TC write and send them an official complaint from all of us and from the biggest community?
we could write together all the things they said and all the things they did .

If that was their intention then they will get a shock when all the cancellations start coming in but they are not naive enough to not think that pissing PJ fans off is not going to have some kind of fall out. Ok some won't bother cancelling but it looks like quite a few will. I think they just f**ked up plain and simple.

    Good idea.

Fact - HMV have used false marketing and tricked customers in order to boost album sales.
They said it was an exclusive pre-sale for those who purchased the new PJ album, but infact it was on sale to general public aswell.

I am in the process of writing a complaint, I've cancelled my order aswell - as they have breached their agreement and pre-sale arrangement.

Fair enough, I know people have canceled their orders already. There are a lot of factors in how much they messed up this presale, I think we can all agree that what ever the 'cause' of this shambles, these tickets could have been put in the hands of those who deserve them in far simpler ways.

I'm probably just bitter, I got Astoria tickets so easily...

It's true though, HMV are a big faceless corporation. A few pissed off fans, even with support from the fanclub, might result in a written apology at best, although even that is unlikely.

everyone who didnt score, cancel your order! fuck hmv, they are corrupt bastards! I bet certain touts were tipped by insiders about 8:55am sale time, HMV are not ever going to get a penny from me! Play.com is where its at for this album, or amazon (special dvd edition :?: )

God, those tickets in my basket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So is it definite that there will not be a second shot at tickets through HMV then?
"We get these pills to swallow... how they stick in your throat... Tastes like gold..."
  • According to the last few people on the phone to them, all tickets are gone.

Those tickets in your basket, unfortunately, mean nothing. They didn't use a reserve system, so that item will just take you to a page that no longer exists.
  • I haven't had anything from them via email so I guess the guy on the phone did not know what he was talking about!

BUT we still have the 10c lottery -maybe they will make a note of which fans have tickets already and which ones don't??

I am going to cancel my HMV order for sure - does anyone know what the limited edition DVD release (as mentioned above) is actually called? All I can find is a gatefold edition...
  • HMV didn't even send me the link

waste of space. My only hope is the lottery!!!!!

Unless anyone has a spare :)

That's what I though... All gone then. I don't understand how they could not have used a reserve system though!! Why not do it like Ticketmaster, once they're in your cart you've got three minutes to buy them or they'll go to the next person!

  • Ironically, the reason they stated for not using a reserve system was because it was for a sought after item.....

    Makes no sense at all.

Ridiculous... Oh well, I've done enough complaining for now. I'm off to cancel my order, since I'm not expecting anything from HMV anymore, and entering the lottery. Wish me luck for that one ;)

  • Is there an O2 pre-sale for this? Anyone know when it starts?

If not I just have to hope I am lucky with the lottery but somehow I doubt 10C have that many tickets....

Go on, admit it. Who's been trying the (UNIQUE  ) link every 10 minutes or so like some demented twat, in the vain hope that tickets would magically appear? No? Guess it's just me then. DISAPPOINTED!!!

Yep me too! And been trying that mythical basket of two tickets that is hanging around to taunt me!

HMV Order cancelled, only thing I haven't cancelled with them is the Brian Fallon/Chuck Ragan split 7" and that's only because I can't find another UK company that's going to stock it.

    Hai all.

I am a lurker on here and as upset and despondant as anyone else who didn't get a ticket.

For all those looking to 'officially complein' tbh I think it is a waste of time. The only thing HMV will note is cancellations of orders. I am cancelling mine now.

They will have themselves covered for all eventualities. E.g. 'unique' may mean the link is to one unique page :(
Good luck to all in theTC draw this evening.
