My tickets are still in the basket taunting me too, what a total sham.

Sorry to give everyone a false ray of hope there - just going on what HMV told me ... :(

I can't get over this different times thing. I tried repeatedly from 8.30am with it constantly saying 'nothing available' - at 9am on the dot it changed to the purchase page and then spent 17 minutes saying I had tickets only to say I then had none! So they clearly somehow gave people access earlier, and some not. I'm sure we can officially complain - maybe we should complain to the booking agent!!

I've, somehow, got one ticket sitting in my basket... What makes it worse is that I was trying for two

  • Believe me, if they don't send me the mythical 'second link' I will be writing a complaint. I'm also complaining to the booking agent and won't be buying from HMV any longer! I'll most certainly cancel my pre-sale CD and will find a nice, independent music store (does anyone know of any????) instead. I might even go against my own thoughts about unneccesary shipping and fuel and buy it from 10c as at least they try to help the fans out!

we should all keep ringing them, I held for 15 mins so they are obviosuly getting some stick.

Crikey, ticketmaster at least know what they are doing.

Ticketmaster never put their tickets on sale 5 minutes early either.

oh come on, at least they can conduct an exclusive presale properly, and they tend to keep speed with their servers. I'm not a TM fan but their website is way more functional than that piece of shit from this morning

I have never had a problem with the TM website, even during very, very busy sales.

Mate I had the same thing happen to me!
I was pressing that link since 8am!

It kept saying unavailable, and then at 9am i pressed it and my browser went blank, after 5 minutes it said how many tickets you want, i selected 2 (it said that there were only 4 left) got to checkout, pressed proceed and it keeps saying 'reservation failed'.

THE TICKETS ARE STILL IN MY BASKET, god I'm such a douche for participating in this HMV Pre-Sale scam.

HMV I hope you go down like Zavvi - c**ts

Took ticketmaster years to finally get a system that didn't crash when demand was heavy. All other ticket sites still crash or are unavailable when demand is high. It's no surprise HMV couldn't cope although the demand couldn't have been that high in comaprison to say, take that shows. How many people were actually trying to get tickets?

I guess most of us are just pissed off because we didn't get a ticket but the reality is that most of us would have been left disappointed even if the system had worked perfectly but I'm still irrational enough to be pissed off about how the whole thing was managed or not in this case.

If they're still in your basket maybe worth trying putting them through again? After all, if it's in your basket surely that should mean it is reserved for you to buy?

We are pissed at not getting tickets, but I'm more annoyed at the, by my count, 5 separate lies in the HMV Terms and Conditions of the presale.

I was agreeing with you! TM tell you how long you have to wait, and if you stand a chance or not. Only think I don't like about TM is their ridiculous Captcha thingy with makeyuppy words and random symbols.

Bottom line, this should've been a 10c gig. Put tickets up for sale for 10c members for a certain time and then whatever's left go to HMV or TM or whoever.

    Simples ?

Just spoke to HMV and they have advised that all tickets have now sold out. They said that there was no problem with the link and that too many people were trying to get tickets so the server crashed. I mentioned that tickets actually went on sale to the general public as well. They said that they were not aware of this but would look into it. they have taken my phone number and email address and said they would look into it.

They said that they would not be sending out another link,. I spoke to the manager called Derek so please bombard him with your calls... (0845 603 8576) he was in the web department

Thanks for posting Solace! This is useful for me as I can now complain officially about the fact I was lied to on the phone by a member of staff who said tickets were still available. I doubt being angry fans who didn't get tickets will get us anywhere but hey, we can try.

This all happened with the O2 as well - is it just me thinking this or shouldn't the band know that booking with o2 venues DOES NOT WORK!! All that exclusive pre sale crap for O2 customers who simply go and re-sell them.

Ok so you can hardly start only selling tickets to people based on evidence provided that they are genuine fans (LOL we would have to turn up with a life blog of gigs attended and merchandise owned!) but there has to be SOME way to stop this practice. None of us can afford those silly Ebay prices and it is really just the fans missing out.

At this rate, we'd be better off organising a UK 10c fan trip to see them playing in America - we'd probably have more luck with tickets!!

It comes up with reservation failed if I try to checkout with them.

That was the biggest failure with this system, having them in your basket did not reserve the tickets. A fucking amateur mistake for a ticket booking site. Even my local town hall website has a ticket reservation system.

This is a bloody good idea and I am sure it is doable. Surely 10c know how many UK / Ireland members there are? They could assume a venue based on that info and sell the first lot of tickets to us via 10c and then any spare could go on general sale. Come on 10c how about it?

I am going to make an official complaint to the booking agent, ITB, about HMV's behaviour and I will try to count up as many as poss who have lost out. Ok so we might be just angry fans but we are fans who bothered to join the 10c and who have lost out. Surely the actual fans are the people that Pearl Jam want to play shows for anyway so I do think it is a valid complaint! It won't change anything this time around but maybe next time they play here, they will somehow be able to do a 10c gig.

I agree HMV have made a complete arse of this but I have been the benficiary of tickets going on sale before 9 in the past and as it's not an exact science i would have imagined everybody would have been trying from about 8.55 onwards. Don't get me wrong HMV have messed up big time but all we can do is stop our pre-orders and hope in the future HMv get their act together. I don't think they intentionally misled us they just f**ked up.

Wembley was as near to a 10C gig as we're likely to get IMO, the whole floor was sold to 10c members exclusively.

I don't particularly mind the fact that they went on sale a few minutes early. I do mind that the stated that "The ticket pre-sale starts on Tuesday 21st July 2009 at 09:00 GMT on the hmvtickets website, only accessible via your unique email link. "

The link was not unique, and tickets were not only accessible by that link anyway. That must have been intentional. The fucked up on putting tickets up early, and not sending the link to some who preordered the album, but lying in order to get sales of the album, is fucking pitiful.

If that was their intention then they will get a shock when all the cancellations start coming in but they are not naive enough to not think that pissing PJ fans off is not going to have some kind of fall out. Ok some won't bother cancelling but it looks like quite a few will. I think they just f**ked up plain and simple.
