people are bidding so people will keep selling.

it sucks big time, but there is nothing at all we can do about it other than ignore ebay completely.

Those rich enough will pay though, those who cant afford it will miss out.

    totally stinks

How do we know that anyone could buy these tickets?

Could you really get them if you hadn't preordered? sounds a bit naughty

As long as people keep buying from touts they will be there. The government clearly aren't going to introduce any legislation to stop it so the only way they'll go away is if people stop buying from them. There are plenty of fan friendly means to get tickets to sold out shows, admittedly only via the internet but this is probably where most touts trade now, such as fan forums like this one and www.scarletmist.co.uk. I don't know if there's a similar thing to Scarlet Mist in the US.

Much as I want to be at Shepherds Bush I'm not going to chance it from a tout because they are scum, and also because I can't afford the train fare & hotel if I don't get a ticket.

Yes, you are right. Just because people are buying, it doesn't make it any less reprehensible though.

never even g6t an E-Mail with the pre-order link from HMV  now I cancelled my order as I'll rather go out and buy it at my local shop instead!

maybe I'll still get lucky in the lottery and then there's the regular ticket sale on Thursday....which is going to be tense again I guess..

Anyway - I'm still looking forward to Berlin!

I feel pretty incensed at what went on this morning. I would like to propose an email campaign voicing our concerns to HMV> I recognise that there were a limited number of tickets and someone had to miss out but the whole thing was incredibly poorly handled. I've fired off the following missive:

    Good afternoon,

I rarely feel the need to complain about online activity however I do feel the events of this morning warrant your attention. I have participated in many online promotions, most of which run smoothly. However, it seems to me that the marketing ploy of providing a 'unique' link in return for a pre-order has, in this instance, simply not occured. I, like many others who attempted to take advantage of the pre-sale offer have experienced a number of issues:

    1. The advertised start time for the ticket sale of 9am today was not adhered to. Sales started approximately 10 minutes ahead of time.
    2. The 'unique' link was not unique. The same link was sent to all of us who pre ordered the forthcoming CD.
    3. Ticket sales were open to the general public, therefore no advantage was gained from your 'special' promotion
    4. Incredibly the servers were not capable of withstanding the traffic. Surely load testing took place ahead of the sale?

I am loathe to go as far as to say that this ticket promotion was fraudulant misrepresentation but it was certainly not as advertised and clumsiliy handled. I am yet to cancel the CD pre order but I will certainly approach any future HMV offers with extreme caution. You have managed to disenfranchise a significant number of people. Considering the competitive nature of online music transactions this has been a severe error of judgment.

I would like to know what preventative steps HMV intends to take to prevent a repeat fiasco. In addition I would also be intrigued to learn what you intend to do to re-engage with a significant portion of the bands fan base who are feeling a little cheated today.

If HMV have the balls to reply I'll post it here. Here's to 'consumer powwer'!!!!
