So out of morbid curiosity I start a thread called God Bless America...Let's see what the tempertaure is ya know? And nice to see most people seem able to wrap their head around being ok with being an American or just generally being ok with America. And that was cool. But then one very predictable fellow had to chime in with God Less America.......See that's about us. Those people need to go. Its not cool anymore. And for that I got banned and that pisses me off.

What in the world makes you think I was debating...you? Or anyone here for that matter. I wouldnt waste my time debating with people who already have their minds made up. Not my purpose at t'all

i still like this forum. not always, but most of the time. it usually is an informative read, and i appreciate reading others' pov, especially when they are vastly different from my own. i may not agree, but it's always good to gain a bit more understanding of someone else's perspective. personally, i think that's why this little place even exists....b/c pj/10c think that exchange of ideas is a good idea.

Why do they need to go? It's their prerogative. We are pretty reviled by a lot of people around the world. Banning them from message boards so you can pretend they don't exist isn't going to change that. And while you claim you were baiting them, you were the one that got baited. How, you ask? You played right into their hand because your absurd overreaction (what the hell does God Less America even mean and why the hell is it offensive? it sounds like something a southern patriot would shout to condemn secularism more than anything) to an asinine comment allows people like Byrnzie to validate their beliefs that we're all delusional rednecks. So YOU got baited my friend. Not Byrnzie. You could have ignored his post like the rest of us were doing and the thread would have rolled on as it was, aside from the baseball debate. But you had to make a big deal about it.

Why close it? There's always going to be social issues to discuss. I pop in and out depending on my mood, but keep it open. Even if I don't agree with someone, its still interesting to see what others think about things.

Of course we still need the MT! Right now we've got a president who is one hundred times worse than W was and who is going to absolutely ruin this country if more people don't wake up and realize that his slick speeches and insane policies is hiding the greatest threat to the US. The MT just gives one more option to those who have see through the BS to go out and explain the truth to those that have not.

With all fairness, encino... if this is really about God and our country (I still prefer it's rather about the world though, not just the country), try a little acceptance. If you can't do that, and God knows that we all have our moments, then try not to care! So people feel differently than you. That's a fact of life everywhere. You start a peaceful thread, it gathers all kinds of people together with different POVs. Isn't that good enough? We will NEVER all agree on one thing. Not on MT. And that's what makes it so interesting around here.
