Back to touring where tickets were easier to get.

Touring for their best record.

Guitar tones (especailly Mike) were great.

Ed was really getting to be a better singer, but still had that scream/growl when he needed it.

    my first show.
    maui two nights, about 3000-3500 people
    GA shows. tickets were very easy to get.
    getting to the front was pretty easy also.
    Posters. I got mine after the show.

    Yup....

    only downside of the '98 tour was they said it was first come first serve, so you didn't actually know if you got tickets or not before the public onsale date.

    we panicked, called the Montana University and bought a pair of GA tickets (which was the easiest time i've eeeeever had buying tickets.. I called the # when they went on sale, no hold, no music, got a real person, and lots of GA tix available.

    My 10c tickets showed up in the mail several weeks later. I sold the ones i bought from the university ticket centre to some friends but they never ended up meeting us there.. there loss.. great show.

    I saw 3 shows in '98 (missoula, vancouver, seattle II),

    It was a great time!

    great year...i graduated high school, saw pj for the 2nd time, started college and met my future bride!
    This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

    and yea, i wasn't even a fan back in 1998.....so my 'best time'....still now.
    it's all we've got. yesterdays' gone...tomorrow is promised to no one.

    1998 was the first seated show for me. Prior to that, San Diego and Indio were General Admission (and kind of shitty because of all the a-holes that were more interested in kicking people's asses).
    Tickets were easy to obtain... I ended up in the third row at COX Arena SDSU, between Jeff and Eddie. It was fucking amazing. Great seats I didn't have to fight all night to keep.
    And we partied on the roof of the parking structure because it took fucking forever to get out of there. So, instaed of idling my car for an hour or more, breathing in exhaust fumes... we stumbled across a bunch of fans that still had beers in their ice chests and we watched the headlights/tailights string their way down the hill.
    Yeah... it was a great year.

    Hrrm... I remember Vedder complaining at the '98 show I attended. And the band infuriated the audience by starting to play Crazy Mary only to stop and launch into another song!!! It was shocking. People booed openly.

    Then the next show I saw in 2000 was the most profound EVER! It was PJ in fantastical dream form. Best concert of my Life.

    It was definitely a special time for PJ...I think most ppl that are still fans would agree..

    my biggest regret as a pj fan was not going to see them at one of the msg shows in 1998. yea, i was 14, but i know i could've talked my dad into taking me.
    i don't have much to complain about though, i've seen 41 amazing shows and have 7 more coming in 2009 (8 if oct 31 happens)

    d2d, you're absolutely right, now is the best time to be a fan. so happy to be where i am in life right now and i'm going to see as many shows as i can because now is the time...who the fuck knows where i'll be in 5 years.
    i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status

    Not for me I was 5 those were the years of kindergarden which were not fun not fun at all.
    right now is the best time for me I got two shows @ the key ahead of me can't wait!! :D

    I only got night 1 through 10club but i'm buying night 2 via ticketmaster tomorrow morning as soon as they go on sale, im pretty confident ill get tickets

    hahha,,of course not.1992 was the best time to become a fan....couse they tour the best album ever .TEN ;)

    Yield is just absolute bliss. Still is. And I sat front row center in Knoxville and 4th row center in Atlanta. It was my only front row experience so I gotta give 1998 the nod, too.
