1998 was the best year to be a PJ fan

I agree, 98 was fucking awesome. I think that is the best the band has ever sounded. went to three shows, Raleigh, Greenville, and Columbia. I think kind of what made the record so great was the time in my life it came out. Junior year of college, living with my three best friends, doing a shit-ton of drugs, not a care in the world about real life.

Was the last time we had General Admission to PJ shows in Australia.

    Good times.

It still pisses me off that they didn't come over to Europe in '98 (even though we did get '96 & 2000 :D )

Maybe not THE best year, but one of the best tour experiences for me for sure. This was the first time I got to follow them around for a while and see multiple shows. I did not get tix through 10C, although I can't remember why.

What made it so great for me was that Matt Cameron joined the band. I am a drummer myself and Pearl Jam was my favorite band and MC my favorite drummer in Soundgarden. When he joined, it pushed me over the edge of PJ insanity, so I had to hit multiple shows: Tibetan Freedom Concert in DC, Raleigh, Knoxville, Columbia MD and DC Voters For Choice.

I got into PJ in 1999, and always dreamed about going back in time to see them on the Yield tour. Live on 2 Legs is still my favourite record.

2000 is year I judge all others by - kick ass European shows, cheap cool bootlegs and then an amazing DVD.
