1998 was the best year to be a PJ fan

'98 was good. My second show (first in 93 on the Neil tour), so my first full blown PJ show. Knew about the fan club for years, but never joined and didn't know about tickets through the club. Got in line to buy tickets for the Portland show Saturday morning around 6:00. Was third in-line and still got row 22. Met some great guys in line who informed me about the fan club and they were using their ONE ticket request for a Seattle show since it was easy to buy your local show then. I joined the 10C shortly after.

Show was amazing. Went to buy a t-shirt and saw this cool looking poster hanging there and bought it (although maybe that was a bad thing since it started me down the poster collecting path).

I remember going to Tower records in Philly for the midnight sale of YIELD

The tour was great as well I went to the Camden Shows,MSG and Constitution Hall

I'm pretty sure it was the band's first return to the Philly area in like 6 years

9/11/98 Show at MSG Eddie flung the mic cord over a set of lights on stage and started climbing the mic cord about half way up during ALIVE

I remember someone brought a HUGE Yield sign to the Constitution Hall show and Eddie signed it for him

Definitely was one of the best years for PJ and us fans

Nope! Hardly.. their greatest albums were still yet to be written.. Yield was average.. sorry..

So that means you think that Binural, Riot Act or Avacodo are better than Yield, No Code, Vitalogy, Vs. and Ten.... uh... NO

98 was when I finally got my ass to a show. My parents finally stepped up and helped me get there. My dad picked me up at school. Four hours away from the show. Took me to mom’s and she took me the rest of the way.

And yes. Yield is my favorite album. So it was sweet I got to see a show from that tour. ...and it was my first.

great profile pics pjbugs007 and YoullseeDragons!

really? saw my first 3 shows on that tour so it will always be memorable but i think the band lost a lot of momentum after roskilde. the euro shows were mostly killer but the us shows seemed a little lackluster....outside of a few choice gems.

i did love the guitar tones on that tour, especially stone's. he should start playing the electric on black again......crazy mary too.

There's a number of good and great songs on Yield, but...

VS = Best album by any rock band ever.

Seriously, just look at the track listing of Yield:
    http://pearljam.com/music/releases/studio%20album/yield

And the track listing of VS

While I can listen to both straight thru, only on VS am I not tempted to skip a song here and there.

I had the best tickets that tour...2nd row a few times....columbus and st louis were damn near center stage!

covered some ground...covered some miles...so many memories! never got me a yield sign though ;)

DOES ANYONE HAVE A VIDEO OF Continental Airlines Arena 98 show?

I was front row and Ed and I had in interaction that is on the bootleg, but I'd love to find the video. I have an old 100th generation VHS of it, which you can't see a thing.

The best PJ ever was (for me) was Lollpaloza '92 August 8 at Great Woods in Mansfield, MA. They came out and basically played all of Ten. I have never seen a show as great as that. That hooked me as a fan for life.

The second best was at the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles in July of 2006. That was an amazing, soulful show.

Just got tickets for three out of four nights at the Universal Amp. Can't wait!!

Wrong. Everyone I knew loved No Code. It's still the favorite of myself and most of my friends.

Even the band made fun of No Code for it's poor sales. Real PJ fans loved it, of course, but the general public disliked.

Agree, I am actually listening to the first PJ concert I ever went to in 2008 at the Target Center in Mpls. It was the hook that brought me into being a huge fan. All those yesterdays and EV messing up Betterman and the crowd singing as he never did mess up, priceless!!!
