Can we cancel pre orders right?

I just dont like ordering online, too many times have stores shipped out cds on the day the come out rather than for the day they come out, i'll actually be in a city at that time so hopefully i can cancel and stroll on down to town and buy a copy on the day?
yes you can no problem they don't charge until shipping.
They got me the Ten boxset before UK street date (well I didn't actually get it before because I had to go pick it up, but they tried delivering it before).

Since I'll be in Seattle when this come out, plan is to stroll into Easy Street and get CD and Vinyl there, so 12/08, I cancel my HMV pre-order :P

HMV fucking failed so hard on my 10c deluxe boxet, i pre ordered it 2 weeks before it came out, they said they would ring me so i can come collect, didn't get any calls for days afterwards, so i went to Fopp and got it, the only one they had :)

So i got my £10 deposit refunded as well. HMV are good for nothing.

Im getting ahead of myself but on hmv.com it says that tickets go on sale at 9.00 GMT on tuesday, well at the moment we are in BST, so does that mean they'll go on sale at 10am on tuesday?

well, I was basically in Greenwich tonight and it was the same time as here.. GMT = UK time in that context.

Yeah, but if they're being exact then GMT is an hour behind current UK time since we put the clocks forward in the summer. The UK is only GMT in the winter. Check here: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.co.uk/

you won't get the link until 17:00 or later on Monday 20th July, then pre-sale starts the Tuesday morning...
at least that's what it says in the blurb on the HMV page.
Oh yeah? Well, I've had about enough of morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells - and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you - you've had enough of me?

I BrisK I thats a FUCKING GREAT IDEA!

After the tickets sell out lets all cancel our HMV orders and buy the new LP from you local independent record store. These people need our support unlike HMV, they are music lovers and preservers of the black plastic we love so much.

I will be getting mine from Jumbo Records!

Anyone not interested in supporting local record shops should read "LAST SHOP STANDING" By Graham Jones published by Proper Music Publishing.

GOOD LUCK ONCE AGAIN TO ALL YOU FELLOW JAM FANS!

Not happy with the lottery idea, but am glad that 10C are at least offering tickets.

After missing out on the Astoria show, I am DESPERATE to get tickets for this!!
  • ilockyerilockyer Posts: 2,225
A lottery is the only really fair way to do this. Chances are they have less than 300 tickets, and it's giving us one more chance at the tickets than we might have got had it been HMV only pre-sale. Every avenue to get these will be exhausted but if unsuccessful I'm not going to pay crazy money to a tout.
The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits

The capacity is around 2000 I think, so I expect Ten Club will get around a quarter to a third of the tickets...or at least I hope they do.

Wasn't it only about 50 pairs for the Astoria (or was that just the free ones and they had presale? Can't remember). Similar capacity. Hopefully a bit more tix this time!

They gave away 50 pairs. That was all they had.

I dunno guys. It kinda sucks that we're all having to go through this.
I'm thrilled at the thought of PJ playing a small intimate show, but hey, as loyal 10C members shouldn't we be almost assured of at least one ticket each?
I mean, who's going to benefit from our sweating and suffering, and probable coughing up of a small fortune for a ticket?
Guys, it could be so easy....take a head count of members in the UK, find a venue just big enough....and play it, allocate us a ticket each.....
    Or is that too easy?
I realise this is a contractually driven publicity stunt for the album release thro HMV, but honestly, it frustrates me a little.

    Fingers crossed tho :|:o

What frustrates me more is the other musicians from the 'industry' getting free tickets and claiming they've been pearl jam fans for years 'ten got me through so much' (not that i'm thinking of a musician in particular *cough* kelly *cough* stereophonics) !!!

Interestingly enough he can actually back it up.

The Stereophonics started out as a band called Tragic Love Company, named after Tragically Hip, Mother Love Bone and Bad Company.

It's probably a safe assumption that he was a Pearl Jam fan in the early days.
