I was JUST about to start a thread on this (but had spent the past five minutes searching to make sure no other topic had be started on it, lest i anger the "it's already been posted" gods).

This is a curious turn of events ...

Holy crap!!!! That's ok, I guess, just don't change dates on me unless they change for the earlier.

    THE FIXER/SUPERSONIC 7"
    SKU 6221
    $5.99
7" White vinyl 45 rpm record. Street date 8/24. We'll get it to you as close to then as possible. Item must be purchased separately.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river
  • Hmmm...interesting. I just hope that with this record there are more non-album b-sides with the singles. Of course with a pre-release 45 two album tracks in understandable.

what if i wanted "got some" with the $ i spent? supersonic better be a damn good song for them to make that switch... if they were gonna do this i wish they wouldve given us an actual B-side instead of just a different song off the album

Agreed. I wouldn't be too surprised if this album has only 1 or 2 b-sides. It all came together really quickly.

I dunno about that. It's been over 3 years since s/t, which had a boatload of b-sides that never saw the light of day. We should be due another double b-side album by now.

I wonder why they changed this? Did they really just change their mind or could there have been a mix up in the printing/pressing process and they decided to just go with it. Anyone have an idea how far ahead singles are typically pressed before the release date?

Kind of weird, it's been three and a half years of waiting, now it all feels rushed. If I didn't love this band...

If I had to guess, I would say that they realized that Got Some was too good to be a b-side. I thought it was a potential single when I heard it on Conan. Mayne they've realized that too.

Either way, we'll get another new song before Sept 20, which is a good thing :)

true... for all we know this new album could be 25% avacado b sides and doesnt have any b sides of its own... or maybe theyre just saving all those b sides for a lost dogs 2... imagine how great the first lost dogs wouldve been had we never heard those songs until they released it... easily their best album ever!

I hope you're right about Got Some - that means hopefully another opportunity to get a real b-side!

Agreed! I'm hoping for several Backspacer b-sides...but my hopes are not too high

First, they aren't really b-sides unless they've been released on a single.
Second, how do we know about these other tracks? I mean, sure, most bands discard some songs along the way when they're doing an album, but are you saying there are completed songs we never heard? Because they sure didn't play any of these so-called b-sides on tour, or did I miss something?

    First, semantics.
Second I recall there being a Danny Clinch interview where these songs were brought up. He said something to the effect of there being a reason they've been held back thus far but that he couldn't say any more than that.

Cool. I only pointed out the semantics because unless there's a finished song, full production and mixing and everything, there wouldn't be a good chance of us hearing it. With the exception of the Momma-Son tape, PJ's never released demos, even on Lost Dogs, and I wanted to know if there was evidence of actual finished songs. And it seems there is. So my apologies for being a dick.
