So where does this leave us with the tour?

We got some news like people suggested we would today, about the possible title of the album, some new info on the Conan gig and when the album will likely be released.

Yet, no news on the tour. The article had that one snippet, that the band would support the album with a tour, but nothing beyond that.

Does this negate or enhance the likelihood of a tour before fall? Where does it leave the rumored Seattle shows?

Will we be getting a more extensive summer tour from the guys, or is this it until the fall release of Backspacer?

personally, i hope they wait until all the EV shows are done, then make the announcement. right now, most of us are caught up in that excitement, some of us lucky enough to be going to a show (or shows)....traveling.....what have you...so wait until that excitement is over and done, then hit us with the next wave!

Not to be a debbie downer but I think this "West Coast Tour" is going to be much, much smaller than people might be thinking. We'll have to see... I really hope they go gangbusters but I really am doubting we will see much beyond SF and Seattle.

I don't think they'll do a big tour in support of the record until next spring and summer. They're certainly not going to tour in September before the record is out, and they've never toured in November and December -- well, at least in the past 15 or so years. Yes, the Seattle shows in 2000 were during the first week of November. I think they're out of time this year. I imagine venues are booked by now for late summer and early fall.

Actually PJ toured Australia and Hawaii in November/December 2006.

That's true, but that was at the end of the tour. And Australia is in spring then. I can't picture a tour starting in November and December and carrying through January to March or so.
