Like the mets the last two years? And their total rip-off of the Dodgers at their new stadium?

you mean Mets fans are now showing up in the 3rd inning and leaving in the 7th? ;)

    what did they do?

Their new stadium is modeled after Ebbets Field and they have a huge monument to Jackie Robinson, who did not play for the Mets at all.

At least the Dodgers honor their own history and don't take another team's. Jackie Robinson didn't play for the Mets and the Mets were not even a team when Ebbets field was around. What a joke of an organization!

The Mets were started as a hybrid of the Giants and Dodgers to pass on the tradition of National League Baseball in NY. Just look at their hat. The blue from the Dodgers and the insignia from the Giants. I don't really have a problem with them honoring NY baseball like that, especially the National League.

but, the entire league has honored him ... thus, why #42 is retired on every team ...

anyway, this is way off topic, let's try to stay on, target ....

I lot of people are going to be watching the Conan premeire.. It would be a good sales idea for the band to release something rather soon. The public has short memories. At least have it on airwaves the next week and a single released a few weeks later.

Why didn't they make their stadium a hybrid of the Polo Grounds and Ebbets? Why not just follow their own history?

Newsflash: the Giants and the Dodgers left!!!!!!!!! Get over it!

It's fine to retire his number, but to have the entire entrance to the stadium be "Jackie Robinson" rotunda is bullshit, since he didn't play for your fucking team!!!! He even retired before they were a "team".

That was my argument for why I think the album will come out sooner than the fall. I don't understand why they would do a big show like this and wait until the fall to release the album.

Here's another thing I've been thinking.

Outside Lands is the end of August. PJ is probably contracted to not announce any other shows in the area until after the festival. It's common knowledge about how festivals are run.

I would expect PJ to DEFINATELY be doing some sort of show on 10/22 in Seattle proper - a place they haven't played in years oddly enough.

Also - El Corazon (the old Off Ramp) I would imagine would be the site for Cameron Crowe to shoot some footage that day as well. I do not think PJ will be playing there that night, but perhaps walk around that place during the day and talking about that first ever show on 10/22, 20 years to the date.

But something is in the air for this week I can feel it!!!!!!!1

I'm jumping in late here, so I might be misunderstanding what you are saying. But 20 years to the date would be in 2010. As in, over a year from now.

Although I think your main point is valid (re: contractual terms of announcing shows within a certain radius of festival dates), I don't think they have to wait until the end of August to announce more shows. It certainly looks like any more shows in the US will either be in September or October. Even if we are talking October, I can't imagine that they are going to announce a bunch of October dates on say August 31st. That will be only a month of advance notice for many of these shows. That seems highly unlikely to me.

I think we'll hear about any October shows by the beginning of July at the very latest.
