haven't had a chance to watch the game yet cause i was working but what a game. It was 5-4 Canucks when i left work to walk to the car and by the time i started the game on the radio, it was 7-5 Hawks  What happened??? I can't wait to watch SportsCentre
I was cheering for the Hawks so i'm really happy, but a little part of me wouldn't have minded Mats pulling it out.

It'll be interesting to see what the Canucks do in the offseason, their team has a good chance of looking very different next year.

Praying for a Hawks/Caps (or Bruins) final but i see Detroit being in the finals :(

    LETS GO HAWKS :D

I didn't get to see the whole Blackhawks game...congrats to the Hawks for advancing

Here is how it breaks down :

    DET/CHI WCF

    WASH/CAR ECF

Not real confident with CAR though

There you go, I'm right ;)

“That was a sucker punch,” said Melrose, the ESPN studio analyst. “I haven’t seen a punch like that in 20 years in the NHL. The NHL blew it. I can’t believe the NHL did not suspend Walker.”

I agree with mullet boy and think you and that league powers that be are wrong.

And Luccic always let Komisarek at least get his gloves off before he pounded that crap out of him.

Who said anything about Komisarek? He started both of those fights and shouldn't have, obviously. He separated his shoulder midway through the first one, and there was one punch thrown in the second one. Good crap pounding...too bad Rocky runs away from Laraque. But since you want to bring it up, both Lucic and Chara (who never waits for anyone to drop their gloves when he fights, btw) pulled the same stunt with Komisarek on separate occasions.

Walker is an idiot for throwing the punch and Ward is a tard for standing there and watching.
Barry Melrose is a huge moron, the opposite of what he says must be true.

We both know that Lucic's hand was cut or broken in the game he wouldn't fight Laraque. I have no idea what you're talking about with Chara.

We agree Walker is an idiot. I would agree with you about Ward if it were the regular season, but we're talking about a play-off game where the fighting is always down that's 4-0 and I'm sure the bench is preaching discipline.

I think a would generally lean toward Melrose than Campbell.

His hand wasn't broken, I already went through that argument. Besides, Laraque was in the lineup more than once against him.
Chara drops the gloves and just starts swinging, that's what I'm talking about. But again, I've never made my thoughts about that doofus a secret either. Lucic is similar half the time.

Good point about the playoffs, but I'm not saying he should have fought him, just protected himself. He still would have drawn the penalty.

Melrose vs Campbell...two peas in a pod I think. Our TSN guys had a good discussion on it the other day, before the league ruling. The general consensus was (averaging the two extreme views of course) both that it was a sucker punch and Ward should have protected himself.

As an aside, how the hell can you folks tolerate the announcing on US coveraged games?

I live in Detroit, so we get the Fox Sports Detroit crew (which is great if you're a Detroit fan) or CBC, which is leaps and bounds better than VS.

TSN keeps replaying Chicago and Washington announcing and it's absolutely brutal.

I'm sure the reporting in the local media down here had Lucic with a broken hand at the time, regardless I don't think he was ducking Laraque and I'm sure they'll go at some point. Chara is a beast, you gotta like him on your team. The Sens made a bad choice keeping Redden and not Chara.

Hopefully, the non-suspension only fires the boys up and they come out flying tonight and it will be for the best in the end.

The Boston market on New England Sports network has Andy Brickley as the color guy who I think is outstanding and Versus uses him a lot especially for B's games. Jack Adams (formerly ESPN) is good but sometimes is a bit over the top. Both have ties to UNH, which being from New Hampshire makes them all the better.

Detroit takes on Anaheim tonight, hopefully for the last time this year. After Sunday's game, I don't think the Ducks have a chance. The Wings, who are supposed to be a finesse team, have dominated the Ducks from a physical standpoint in the last two games. I look for Detroit to close it out in Game 6 tonight. 4-2.
