my friend loves hers. I may buy one online, she got hers at a nearby outlet.

how many different purses do you carry?

I'm just worried that where I work, I could get robbed for my purse (if I go to the store or something.)

I am not into that. The other day I walked by some purses and a MAN says to his wife "Oh---they changed their logo" (on the Coach purse I guess).

HE SHOULD NOT KNOW THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream

No. I am sick to death of being visually assaulted by the coach pattern and logo in all shapes and sizes here at work. All the fricking same except for the shape and shades - ooooh, some have different colours within the pattern - how novel. :pokeineye:

Stick with your less than $30 cool and different and unique purses from wherever else - much more visually pleasing. My latest TJ Maxx purse holds my laptop and I use it for a carry on. The colour is kick ass and it cost $25. My coworkers are sick of random strangers complimenting while they have those Coach things mangling their hands and necks.

Coach purses, Uggs and owning more than 1 pair (2 max) of flip flops needs to be retired now. bye bye. :)

Overall.... no. I have never bought a coach purse.

However, I am IN LOVE with the coach I have now. My husband bought it for me a few hours before the EV Solo show in Chicago last August. It was rediculously expensive and I didn't use it for the first 2 weeks, it just sat in my closet in its fancy satin pouch.

It's so badass, I love it! It's got a braided shoulder strap and some hanging tassles... can't find a pic on google images. :/

It's probably the last purse I will ever own, I love it that much. :)

    love.

    Guy's perspective:

Anyone who spends hundreds of dollars on a bag is out of their mind!
Now there is absolutely no other reason chicks spend money on expensive purses other than to make themselves feel better around other chicks. Guys certainly don't care what purse you have.
They have no benefit for carrying shit over a purse you can get at Walmart.

Now, I'm not one of those people who doesn't appreciate quality products or brands...if they are in fact better.
That Walmart purse will carry your crap just as well as the one 20x the price.
Now, if that Coach purse could function as a personal organizer, make you dinner, clean your house, do your taxes, etc., or do some other function other than what it really is...a glorified Ziplock bag, then I can see the reason to spend the $350 (or whatever they cost).

Purses and money spent on them = Dumb

Consumerism victim right there. Know thy labels.
Personally, I like cheap but cool looking purses, and I can't understand why anyone would pay so much money for a stupid purse. I'm far from a material girl and I don't like diamonds either.

I totally agree where diamonds are concerned! But to each his own. If it makes you happy. I don't mind spending $ on a purse as it's with me almost 24/7 and I'm not one that changes purses; I keep mine for years. I've never bought a Coach though as I've never found a style that suits me. I do know people who have them and love them though. :)

I'm not a label hound, and I'll carry any purse I like. That said, I've had a couple of leather Coach bags and they have held up better than any other bag I've ever had. Even after years of use, they still look like new. I can't speak for the cloth ones, but I'm sure they are well-made, too.

Everyone has something that they spend more money on than other people believe they "should". And, for what it's worth, Coach bags I've purchased have outlasted every other purse I've ever bought, regardless of cost.

on the other side, some people couldn't care less about 1080p vs 480i :o

I used to work for a bathing suit factory (shipping) where the perfect ones get a "lands end" tag, etc and the ones with a miss-stitch or slightly crooked irrelevant stitch goes to Caldors (dept store) Same exact material, same exact workers.....

I'm a LeSportSac kind of girl...mainly because I travel so much, but they're just so damn functional. cute prints, easy to clean. I'm pretty simple...I'm ridiculously low maintenance, and just can't see the reason to spend a ton of money on stuff like purses, jeans (I work P/T in a high-end denim store...the amount of CASH people will drop on jeans....maaaaan, If I spilled something on $250 jeans, I'd die!)

However, if you like it and will use it, AND you have the discretionary income, get what you like!

unless those jeans cure cancer there is no way they should cost $250....that's fucking ridiculous!!!

when I bought my last drumset, I could have spent ridiculous money on it, but I am and went bang for the buck (no pun intended)....my only regret is not paying a little more for a different finish. I put more money into the hardware (the stuff that takes a beating)

I'm a guy and i thought that was interesting. There is some truth there. I mean i see a girl with a purse i have no clue if it cost 20, 100, or 300 dollars. It means nothing to me what kind of purse a girl has.

that said maybe it is like shoes. some girls collect shoes it seems. I don't get that eitehr but that is their thing. God knows i have my own little things that i spend more money on that i'm sure many other people don't understand, but it is my hobby and it keeps me from going insane and killing large amounts of people ;)

Maybe this is just because I'm a guy...

But it seems to me that even if a $350 purse lasts a little longer than the $10, it would be more beneficial to maybe go out and buy 3-4 $10 purses which in their lifetime (together) will clearly outlast a Coach purse, AND, you get 4 purses and still only pay less than 1/3 of the Coach price.

    More bang for your buck!

I have a lot of purses and get compliments about all of them. Not one is an expensive one. I think its ridiculous to pay hundreds for a purse.

I get lots of compliments on the low rise jeans I buy from Victoria Secret. I think they are $47/pair.

I bought a $40 purse last summer and it had 3 holes in it by Christmas. On the other hand, I have this one Coach bag that I carried daily from 2005 up until I got the one last summer, then carried intermittently, and it looks brand new. Because my husband saw how that one has held up, he surprised me with another one for my birthday. As I said before, I an not a label hound and neither is my husband. He wears Chuck Taylors until his feet are sticking out of the ends (like a fucking hobo... ) and I make him get new ones. Anyway, I have purses that cost all different prices. It's not a "status" thing for me, but I do think that if someone wants a bag that's gonna last a lot of years, they should look at Coach. Everyone has their priorities: my husband and I share a car, and I'm sitting here in ripped up jeans that I got at the end of college (2002). But, I really like my purse, and I don't care how much it cost. Sometimes...if you like something, you should just go ahead and buy it.

I'm sure some women do that, but some just appreciate the way a purse looks and/or it's quality. It's not always about impressing the people around you.

I am really picky about how a purse is set up. It has to have enough inside zippers and pouches to hold my stuff in an organized manner. Once I find one I like I keep it until it falls apart. I should be a purse designer, except I don't really care how it looks on the outside. It just has to be super organized so I can find my phone or my keys or my sunglasses quickly.
