Anyone who spends hundreds of dollars on a bag is out of their mind!
Now there is absolutely no other reason chicks spend money on expensive purses other than to make themselves feel better around other chicks. Guys certainly don't care what purse you have.
They have no benefit for carrying shit over a purse you can get at Walmart.
Now, I'm not one of those people who doesn't appreciate quality products or brands...if they are in fact better.
That Walmart purse will carry your crap just as well as the one 20x the price.
Now, if that Coach purse could function as a personal organizer, make you dinner, clean your house, do your taxes, etc., or do some other function other than what it really is...a glorified Ziplock bag, then I can see the reason to spend the $350 (or whatever they cost).
Purses and money spent on them = Dumb
my sentiments exactly.....I would rather give a $30 bag with $270 inside....don't ask how I feel about diamonds (sorry but...it is a rock)
totally! who wants to spend money on a quality piece of fabric that looks cute and holds things when you could take that money and spend it on a big colorful piece of paper that says "PEARL JAM" on it?
some people will spend money on a purse and collect them, some people will spend big money on posters. i dont knock people for spending money on things that make them happy, and at least with a purse i could do something other than staring at it
as for coach purses, don't like them. now im a gal who can grab a hot guess? bag from marshalls for $30 (i actually do have a $30 bag from marshalls) if it's my taste, but if i had the extra money i would DEFINITELY get a gucci bag. or LV. though im more of a shoe girl... god dont even get me started on shoes
but yeah it's not necessarily about status (well not for me, for some girls it is) but a nice louis vuitton bag may cost anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand but they're good quality and never goes out of style so you can have the same bag for 10 years, whereas a cheaper purse is more likely to fall apart. i have a lucky brand bag that i've had for a year and the stitching was coming loose after a month.
i say, if you got the money to spare, who the hell cares how you spend it? it might not be financially wise for some people especially during a recession, but if you got the money, want a purse, then why not?
i love shoes too except I have to wear orthotics in sneakers.
my ankles turn in!
oh that sucks! the only thing i got thats bad is that my feet are abnormally thick so fitting them in shoes is hard sometimes. may the fashion fairy bless you with fabulous shoes that dont make your feet and ankles all wonky

i've worn the orthotics since 2007 and i really see an improvement in ankle pain.
two days in a row, i wore low heels to work but i changed into my sneakers later.
today, at physical therapy for my lower back, the PT lady made me do something with balance and my ankles were really wobbly, except she said I did a good job.
thanks!

Not sure if anyone said this, but Coach has a lifetime warranty. My mother send back her damaged coach purse from god knows when ago and they fixed it and redid the lining. Other people i know have received giftcards if coach can't fix it. Just like Tupperware. I guess you can't really put a price on that?
Personally, I don't have coach, but I did buy my dogs coach. Yes I spent $176 on a leash and collar. They wear them on special occasions, but that's a topic for another thread called, "Crazy people with no kids and obviously too much money and time"

hey if you got the money and the dog looks cool, then awesome! it's not crazy, if it makes you happy then why not do it?
they look like they are pieced together from scraps of fabric
picked out of the trash at the fabric store. though i know
they are insanely popular, just not for me.

i'd rather spend my money on Pearl Jam tickets
I know what you mean by the scraps, but I think my friend's was solid black, leather....
I do not understand what ppl in my building are bringing to work. Several employees have a purse, two totes and a laptop. I'm not strong enough to carry that much junk in one trip!

i have 2 coach bags. one was a gift for college graduation...it's a plain light tan leather purse, nothing fancy as i think that a bag should be timeless. the other one is just a small messenger-type bag...perfect for carrying the essentials.
i switch out my bags often...lately alternating between the small coach and my grey marc by marc jacobs purse. if it's not one of those, then it's a plain canvas tote bag that i picked up for free at work.
coach is nice...but my loyalty lies with marc i can only imagine the damage that i'm going to do when i go to the marc store in nyc this weekend!! trouble for sure!
