Picked up a pass! If the rumours are correct, this will be the first time I've seen PJ since the Saskatoon 2005 show...which was my first time seeing them. I am so excited!
if you feel let down by tenc, well that's entirely up to you...remember there was absolutely no word from tenc re the beacon show and a lot of people bitched.
...they do their best to bring us info, but just cause we pay $20 or $25 now for membership, some of us feel like they owe us something... its nothing personal
I honestly don't think they do their best to bring us info. That's just not the track record over the past few years. There may be reasons why they don't, perhaps the band wants to be stingy, but they have done an awful job of keeping us informed. Perhaps it is not evident to those of you who spend a lot of time here, but there was no info about the Lynch show at all. On the other hand, I am informed about every single t-shirt that hits the merchandise section :roll:

we got our tickets today...can't wait!! we're going to try to save some $ this time & stay with my wife's best friend...if that falls through, we'll be booking a hotel room asap. i just looked on hotels.com & there are still a LOT of great deals available. here's what we've done the last few years if anyone is looking for a tip---
-check availability through hotels.com
-call the hotel directly
-ask for AAA discount
-reserve room
*if you book through hotels.com, you have to pay now. if you go directly through the hotel, you don't have to (in most cases). that way, if a better deal comes around, you can book that. also, if you're thinking of staying w/ friends, you have a backup plan if that falls through.
ACL is such a blast...can't wait to see who's playing!!
The 3 day passes usually sell out and then they start selling day passes. I may be off but I think last year they started selling those in August. The truth in the past has been that you can pretty much walk up any day and get tickets because not everyone who buys three day passes is there non-stop for all three days. It is not a camp out situation. If anyone has any specific to Austin questions feel free to ask. This is home.
If ACL announces PJ this month officially before 10C lets us know...is that par for the course?
Having attended ACL and knowing some sources confirming this (including the director of the festival) that PJ are good to go...should I feel let down by 10C?
I guess this could be one big rumor, but if it turns out not to be, it would be nice to know for hotel reservations, ticket grabs, etc.

sounds like you should quit the 10C because regardless of how entitled you feel to all things Pearl Jam, the 10C is always gonna do whatever the F they feel like. Trust me, the 10C is never going to feel like they have to answer to all the cry-baby b*tches on the board (and there is a TON of cry-baby b*tches on this board), so save yourself the hassel and just quit the 10C.

I am not on the DMB boards or Beastie Boys, the other rumored headliners, but when I went on their sites, it is not posted they are playing ACL yet, so I am curious, are their fans bashing them as much for not posting they are playing that festival yet as much as PJ fans seem to be bashing 10c for something they may not be legally able to announce yet?

Waas up! Ya...I had problems w/ my account for awhile, but its good to be back. Not slammin 10C...just too anxious to find out if they are doin ACL! I bought tickets today and three of us are heading down...we'd have room for more...we'll be in touch! Had a BLAST there last year. It will be an annual journey for some years to come. Love Austin too....
