Do they have any Vegan food there? Just curious for the wife.mfc2006 wrote:the food @ ACL is awesome. they have local vendors making everything fresh. my faves from last year were Stubb's, Wahoo's & Roy's Hawaiian Fusion.
they do have vegan food. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0 -
Maybe a bit off topic but does anyone think one of the potential additional shows could be at Red Rocks in Colorado? I'm not sure what the weather is like in that area in September but I've always wanted to see a show there and pearl jam would be enough for me to make the trip.0

thats a great idea. they should do some of the more "scenic" venues like red rocks, alpine and the gorge, although i could see people wanting them to play seattle proper again. i also want an excuse to take another trip out to jones beach.0

Red Rocks would be amazing. I was thinking of that a couple months ago, how maybe instead of doing one night at the Pepsi Center again, they could do 2 nights at Red Rocks (even though you know it will be all the same people both nights!). However Red Rocks in late Sept/early October has the potential of being very cold for an outdoor show. It could be nice weather, but it could also be pretty damn cold.
Let's make a deal...how about August Red Rocks shows?
Also 3 nights at the Pearl Theater in Vegas. I would prefer to go to either of those than a big festival.
BUT if ACL ends up being the only SW date this year, I would try to go to that! Yeah, that was my thought...it could be cold in that area in September. It gives me thoughts of the "ice bowl" show at Alpine Valley in 2000. I think that show was in October. I remember it was snowing when I drove to the Detoit 2000 show only a few days before the "ice bowl" show.0 -

Yes, I don't think it would quite hit Ice Bowl proportions (does anyone remember what the temp was during the show? 20 or something?), but really, Colorado outside of Denver in October? That could definitely be in the 30s or something at night. It won't be a fun time, temp-wise.ABQ 93, Las Cruces 95, ABQ 98, Bridge School 10/30/99, Lubbock 00, ABQ 00, Denver 03, State College 03, San Diego 03, Vegas 03, PHX 03, D.C. 03, Camden 7/5/03, NYC 7/8/03 + 7/9/03, Vegas 06, San Francisco 7/15/06 + 7/16/06 + 7/18/06, Kansas City 10, [EV:ABQ 11/6/12], Chicago 13, PHX 13, Denver 14--PJ24!, Telluride 16, Chicago 8/20/16, Chicago 8/18/18, Phoenix 22, Denver 22, Vegas 5/16/24

Actually, Speaking of Vegas... A DJ on the radio here ( i live in vegas) about 3 or so weeks ago mentioned the new Joint at the Hard Rock is heavily rumored trying to get PJ fall time....it makes sense because the new joint is suppose to be really nice and opening in April...we'll see!0 -

Oh Good God, I hope that doesn't happen. That could have potential to be really really bad. Like as in, the Borgata was a steal at $90 in 2005 bad. The new Joint seems like it's just a way for the Hard Rock HOTEL to make shitloads more of money than being "just" a concert venue. I think they are offering tickets to shows only as some kind of package deal booked with a room/suite at the hotel for the same night...talking like $1200 for a room and two tickets to Paul McCartney (or something like that). Smaller bands just use it as a concert venue, but big acts (like McCartney for example) are selling tickets as part of a package deal for the richest assholes in the world. I would love to see Pearl Jam at the Joint, but $1000 worth just so I can stay at their shitty hotel worth? Probably not, thanks.
I saw Chris Cornell at the Pearl at the Palms in 2007 for $40. Tool played there a couple months later and it was something like $100. But it is a killer venue and $100 or even $150 a ticket might be acceptable...then you can stay wherever the fuck you like!

+1
Then again, I have a strong aversion to Vegas in the first place. So, I might be a little biased on that one. Instead of playing stupid venues like the Joint, where the majority of the audience will be rich assholes and their restylane injected idiot girlfriends, please play your homedamntown why don't you!I have no patience for bad music and stupid people...

I would definitely make the trip for a Red Rocks show if it happens. They had two legendary shows at this kick ass venue in '95. Why not repeating the history
