"Last year’s Bonnaroo headliner Pearl Jam is one of the highest-paid festival acts, which could trickle down to consumers."

Wonder what kind of pay day the band gets? Doesn't make them sound like the same guys who battled TM to keep tickets and fees low for the fans. Could be pure conjecture by the author I suppose...

I read a blogger talking out his A$$
  • Do they let you buy day passes or is it the same as Bonnaroo where you have to get the 3-day pass, I'll go if they let you pay for 1 day pass only.
I'm sure they'll be other dates on Sep/Oct so I rather not spend so much money on 3 day passes tickets for 2.

I would still want to wait to see what other dates and venues they'll be playing... I think that all these rumors about ACL are good indication of Fall shows to come.

they sell day passes- I'm thinking about doing the whole festival if PJ, Beastie Boys, and KOL are all on separate days- and then do another 3 shows all in one city- like they did in SF in 06 (that is of course if I have the money)

Im thinking of doing this shows if its confirmed too, flights from miami to Austin are super cheap, I do wanna wait for some other dates though to make sure Texas is what i want to do, cause if they play cali this year I would probably like to make it to 2 or 3 shows in the West Coast so it would be either TX or CA so hopefully the announcements for shows will come together.

when Widespread Panic headlined ACL in 2005 (Saturday), they played one of their standard 2 set + encore shows. i'd bet Pearl Jam would get the same opportunity

bands make huge money for doing festivals. hey when you're in a band and you put out a cd thats really good and only 500,000 people buy it and some garbage band like nickleback sells 10 million cd's can you really blame pearl jam for being a festival band. also this just further puts the rumors of a fall tour of the west/south as fact. if thats the lineup as this blogger is saying the austin texas here i come yehaw

sweet. I'm hoping there is a Dallas date and Houston date as well. It seems like a good possability anyway. I think someone posted an interview where Ed said they were gonna tour and then Jeff confirmed that in the last Deep issue, so I'm hoping it actually happens.

I think this is a better question: Are the time restrictions pretty tight like Lolla or more loose like Roo? If there is any wiggle room, they will play beyond 2 hours.

you make a great point. At Lolla I think they have to follow the rules since it's inside city limits- just like ACL. At Roo is private land and they can play as long as they want to

ACL and Lolla are run by the same comapny. I bet the rules are pretty much the same. My guess is PJ would get the Saturday night slot and get at least 2 hours, about the same as Lollapalooza 2007, which was a great show.

If they play other Texas dates, my travel this year will probably stick to Texas dates, although a goal of mine is to see them on the West Coast somewhere.
