Of course... the real question is... if they are touring in late Sept/Oct in the US, when does that get announced.

If its announced soon they are playing ACL, then I'm wondering how long between that announcement and the rest of a tour.

When does the ACL lineup officially get announced normally?

    April 15 this year.

can't wait to see if this is true!! we've already set the $ aside for ACL. it's in our annual budget!! this will be our 3rd trip to ACL & the last 2 years have been awesome.

But I could see them playing the hits at ACL. I think Roo was the exception, not the rule.

Maybe you're right, maybe Roo was the exception- private farm- seemed like anything goes. Completely different from Lolla and I'm assuming ACL

oh wow! I thought we were going to have to wait until May for the ACL line-up. Well, if they follow last year, the festival will be announced and then about two weeks later (early May) PJ will announce the tour

I am not sure if it works the same for ACL, or how far the area usually is, but with Lolla I am pretty sure if you sign up to play it, as part of the contract you promise not play any other shows in the region within a certain time frame, so how many other Texas shows they could play, I am not sure of.

As someone who lives in the Midwest, I am not sure if I am counting on seeing PJ this year. After playing the East/ Southeast last year, and with ACL looking like it would happen (and maybe Bridge too?), I wouldn't be surprised if this year's tour was more of a western part of the country type thing. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Yeah, I keep hearing this, and then I keep hearing that it isn't true. I don't think I have heard a definitive answer though.

they wrote me back saying that "nothing can be confirmed at this time". we'll know soon enough if the announcement is indeed coming on 4/15. just thought i'd share!

I think it is safe to say that an ACL announcement will come before the rest of the dates, much like Roo last year.

Nah, I'm salary just like the teachers. No xtra coin coming my way.

I don't know if travel is in my budget, but you and Atlanta Jammer have a place to stay if there's an Alpine date.

    Great minds think alike!

If the suggestions that any ACL headliner can't play a show within a certain radius of Austin, it will be interesting to see if PJ will try to plan a tour of the south without including a regular show in the state of Texas.

Yeah, I would like to see confirmation of that rule.

Anyway, I am there if it happens. My wife's best friend lives in Bastrop, which is just outside of Austin so I have the hookup!

Last year I contemplated renting a house and splitting it with a bunch of people. Cheaper than a hotel.
