Saw Primus support either FNM or Jane's (can't remember!!) in the early 90's...

Saw Isis last December supporting the Hold Steady and thought they were great, I'd never heard of them before though!!!

Isis was at the Carling Academy in Oxford and they were so loud... very impressed

Isis & hold steady that is quite an odd tour!

It was a re-arranged date... I think War On Drugs were originally booked for the support slot, glad it was moved now...

I may be a bit old school but if Hendrix = stoner metal I would put Mars Volta in the same catagory.

I recently heard a band Red Fang from Portland.

I was not familar with them but they seem to rock pretty hard and i think they are stoner metal for sure. Maybe not like Sleep stoner metal but pretty good stuff

to be completly honest i just assumed they were already mentioned I did not go back and read the entire post, But yeah when i think stoner rock the first two bands that come to mind are Kyuss & Sleep

BUT C'mon has not and they do deserve props! They have a 7' split with the Hot Live Guys that is the "Bollocks"!

Oh Clutch - I LOVE THAT BAND!!

My neice is off to Maryland university in August for a year - hoping to visit and see Clutch in their home state.
