I recently heard a band Red Fang from Portland.

I was not familar with them but they seem to rock pretty hard and i think they are stoner metal for sure. Maybe not like Sleep stoner metal but pretty good stuff

    http://www.zombiechatter.com/2009/01/19 ... toric-dog/

That has their vidoe for prehistoric dog where the band gets drunk and fights D&D dorks in the woods. It is pretty funny

I'm pretty sure a majority of those bands where mentioned through out this thread....

BUT C'mon has not and they do deserve props! They have a 7' split with the Hot Live Guys that is the "Bollocks"!

    I know most if all of these have been said before, but;

    Kyuss
    Fu Manchu
    Brant Bjork
    Nebula
    The Sword
    Orange Goblin
    Taint
    Dozer
    Slo Burn
    QOTSA
    Monster Magnet
Clutch (granted, not classed as true Stoner, but still amazing!)

There will be others I've missed, but a decent list to start off with!

Kyuss here, and in a few other posts!

I don't think you can help but be instantly hooked - saw them 5 times this year. Each gig they seem to pull out a song I haven't heard live before, I shout for Gulla each and evry show - but I'm still waiting to hear it!

Loving the doom band St. Vitus atm.
  • "ISIS, the innovative Los Angeles-by-way-of-Boston-based band, has set a May 5 release date for its much-anticipated new album, "Wavering Radiant" (Ipecac Recordings). Wow dude

    thanks for that

    got a source?

  • "This is a better sonic representation of what the band actually sounds like. In the past I think some of the recordings were a little too clean in their final form," Vocalist/Guitarist Aaron Turner says. "There was something about the energy that seemed to be lacking. It seems to feel more like us than anything else has."

this is something to look forward too, although I have not loved another album by Isis as much as I have loved the Red Sea.

As well not sure if its been mentioned but Cursed is pretty awesome or... at least was RIP- Cursed
  • the fucking champs
  • I'm not 100% sure if they technically meet the criteria for "stoner" or not, but I do find it a little hard to believe that Torche wasn't at least mentioned yet. I guess I'm linking to their myspace for the second time today.

    http://www.myspace.com/torche

And no, I don't work for them. But my record store did close last month, so maybe I should send them a resume :)

Saw them support Isis, but they lost a guitarist as he was in a crash or something so they played as a 3 piece, was alright but would have been better as a full band.
  • Ah, crashes will do that :)

Also, I think they were mentioned earlier, but Bison (aka Bison B.C.) is rocking balls off too.

It's not on that page, but "Wendigo Pt.1" is fucking epic.

Bison BC is awesome Masa the bass player is a pretty good friend of mine! If anyone has the chance to see them Live they rip it up!!

on a side note I thought Torche was mentioned, but if not I second that they are awesome! Just phenomenal, guitar warp with a pop over tone... either way they are worth checking out!
