Certainly Rossdale is the worst lyricist of the 90s.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

i won't argue that. but then, a good chunk of rock music isn't exactly poetry. i never could figure out what a single nirvana song was supposed to mean.

bush was among the worst ever though, no doubt. they were fun though.
    and like that... he's gone.

I still like this song, probably the only one of the Bush songs that get played on the radio that I don't flip the station.

I actually heard it this morning

In Canada, they were called Bush X

I remember them being called Bush X here... I bought "sixteen stone" though while I was in the USA( I have NO idea why I remember that :o) so it just said Bush. Oh yeah I am cool  :p

They have like three good songs but after that... meh but man I used to think Gavin was all that and a bag of chips :o

when i was in junior high i used to tell my friend that bush was WAY better than some old fart's band like his fav group: the beatles :)

"blood is like wine, unconscious all the time" Eh?

Minus points for having a singer called Gavin.

"Glycerine, don't let the days go by, Glycerine/" Glycerine?

Their popularity wasn't only due to american girls salaciously drooling over the singer. Sixteen Stone wasn't so bad at all, I preferred it to most britpop I heard at the time, but, as kinda made clear, lyrics that kad meaning would have taken them further.

definitely. I think that was the main reason I liked them back in the 90s.
