about time Kobe got T'd up for whining at the officials in this game ... they have a what, 20 - 2 free throw advantage and he's still complaining.

No doubt, the Lakers are outplaying the C's right now ... but, jeez Kobe, you remind me of Dan Marino with your crying.

true....but let's be honest...practically ALL players complain when either they are called for fouls and/or fouls on them not called....unfortunately, the ref's couldn't call a foul to save their lives

C's down 6 with only 4 points from Pierce and Garnett .... Garnett's what, 1 for 10? Only bucket was an alley oop.

a small victory for the C's ... as long as they can avoid foul trouble in the 2nd half

Offensive rebounds are keeping the Celtics in this game.

The Celtics bench is totally outplaying the Lakers' bench and half of their starters combine. That's the reason. Powe, P.J., and Posey are contributing a lot off the bench.

  • The Celtics outside of Ray Allen played terrible and still had a chance to won the game. Good win by the Lakers. I'd like to see KG play more in the post, and I hope that Rondo is ok.

I think the game to take is game 4. So roll on Thursday.

  • It's been a weird series so far. Game 2's comeback, and last night's awful display. I guess we'll know more after Thursday.

No, I think based on the fact that the Lakers have played nowhere near their capabilities the whole series. If you followed the team the whole year, you'd know what I mean. They have looked really bad. The only guys to show up yesterday were Kobe, Vujacik and Jordan Farmar. One starter and two subs.

Anyway, it was (barely) enough, but they have to play much better to take games 4and 5. At least they are finally getting some foul calls.

Have they looked bad, or have the Celtics been able to play better defense? The C's won 66 games during the year by playing incredible defense. In every sport (football with the Giants, baseball with the Sox pitching) defense wins titles.

I mean the defensive player of the year is shutting down Gasol and Odom (not on his own, but he guards them both on occasion).

The Celtics are a very good team, and yeah, they play great defense. But you have to admit that a lot of the "defense" is actually illegal picks and other fouls. Those were finally called last night. You can call it playing "tough" or call teh Lakers soft or whatever, but bottom line, they are fouls. You can't rake a guy's elbow and expect not to get called for a foul. The Lakers have been extremely frustrated, and the frustration came from a combination of two things: tough defense, and also getting butchered with no foul calls. You have to acknowledge that if you know basketball, which it sounds like you do. These are not excuses, just looking at the whole picture. But yeah, to answer your question, the Lakers have not played to their abilities at all. If they continue not to, they will lose, obviously.
