Do you have a way to verify that it true? Puppy mills have such a bad rep now, if I was the owner of one I would advertise like I wasn't.The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0 -

In fact, I am getting ready to adopt a dog from our local dog pound, this summer. I can't wait. I keep checking out the available dogs at the pound on-line, but I know i can't even begin to pick one out yet as I have to wait until June or July.
Let us know what kind you adopt.0 -

No shit. The first time me and my g/f saw that commercial I nearly started crying. I got up, grabbed my wallet, grabbed the keys and headed for the door. My g/f starts asking me where I'm going and I tell her I plan on going to the nearest pet stores and buying every damn animal I see. She took away my wallet for the next day.0 -
Some great people and dogs in this video.

I want a Lab - and right now there is an over abundance of black labs in our pound - which just breaks my heart. But what is there when I am ready, I will have to wait and see.
It will be the hardest thing to only adopt 1 dog. i will want to take at least 10 home I bet.0 -

I agree.
I don't believe breeding should be encouraged while dogs are daily being destroyed due to lack of people wanting to re-home them. I'm not saying all, but some breeders, unfortunately only see pound signs instead of the tiny lives that they are responsible for. I don't know much about the states or other countries but here in the UK, puppy farms tend to be horrific squaller filled holes where dogs are just kept and disposed of.
There are good breeders out there however. I'm not trying to take away from them, I'm sure they love and care for the animals they breed. I just think that people should be a little more aware of the amount of mongrels, that love and make great pets like any other dog that are sat in kennels waiting for homes or judgement day.
I personally would never buy or home an animal over the internet that I hadn't seen in the flesh. I wouldn't be too happy about my future pet being in transit for long periods of time and I'd want to know where it came from...

first time i went to a shelter i wanted to take every dog home....heart wrenching...
i adopted what i thought was a black lab puppy and he looks just like one yet he is a mix of many dogs....which, imo, is the perfect dog0 -

whenever that commercial comes on, i remind my dog how good she has it. this usually results in a licking of my face.0 -

we've been looking at a lot of sites and some of them say they will ship the pup to you. i don't know, i would almost rather go and check it out before i put the money down. but that requires a plane ticket and time off work.
i'm thinking it's almost worth it to just have it boxed up and shipped to me.
