    yes, lots... just none of them work in finance jobs, construction, whatever... some are teachers, some own their companies, vets, etc etc... i dont know many people who have been affected by this credit crunch.. but i'm sure others have.

    my wife works for a large veterinary wholesaler... through her... personally, i think the guy is a complete bastard. :)

    get who protection? small firms? yeah, they've just announced more liquidity for small firms... not protection... small firms will still go bust just as they did before this crunch, if they are not run properly...

    interest rates will help also...

    but aye, a lot of firms are in the shit... and lets hope these announcements today help them out... 2 tight-fisted scottish bastards trying to sort it out is the best we've got!! :D

    By 'protection' I mean the original definition.. not the latest definition :D

    'Protection' doesn't always mean bailing someone out with hundreds of billions of whatever currency you use :D

    thats exactly what i just said... what the govt has just announced ISNT protection... it just means there might be more offer of financial support in the form of loans and overdrafts..

    i think we're agreeing on the same thing but just in a different way :D

    Don't think my job would be put in jeopardy by it, but it has certainly had an effect on the business
    All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

    They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

    Well, I say that simply because we are about as lean as we can possibly be as a staff, so I feel pretty confident the only way my job would be lost would be if the thing was sold. Oh, and I got a raise a few weeks ago to.
    I hope it doesn't happen and I certainly hope the best for those who are now unemployed.....behind every closed door, there's one waiting to be opened

    Nope, I am in the construction industry and it seems that all the big businesses in this country, specifically in MA where I live, are building new buildings to expand. There is no shortage of work in my business so I am grateful for that.
