  • i used to agree, but have you ever played FIFA?

insane amount of fun, awesome graphics, great commentary, good AI, 200 different crowd chants. it's intense on surround sound.

    You sir, speak the truth.

I couldn't agree more. I absolutely loathe soccer but FIFA 09 is unbelievable and a blast to play.

I know it will, but I'm still waiting for my deadbeat buddy to finish the last level on co-op. I've declared that I wont get the second game until I've finished the first.

    You haven't finished the first?
Shame! But yeah, finish that one first.

We must have co-oped that one through on every difficulty.

My buddy made me promise to finish the game with him on co-op. He got the Three Rings of Death and we never got back to it. Hopefully I'll have it finished by Thanksgiving weekend.

There are still a bunch of games like Gears of War 2, the new Tomb Raider, and Final Fantasy XIII that I’m looking forward to but I have to beat the games I currently own before starting anything new.

I need to be more disciplined. I don't have much time to begin with when it comes to playing games, but I know a guy that has this connection that hooks me up with games from time to time for little or next to nothing. Apparently there's some truck somewhere that these things fall off of... anyways, I don't ask for details.

In the last few weeks, games that I acquired by both traditional and non-traditional means include Dead Space, FIFA 09, NBA2K9, Saints Row 2, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Guitar Hero:WT, Gears of War 2, and COD:W@W.

I can't bring myself to focus on one at a time and it sucks. I guess it'a good problem to have, but there was a time when I actually finished games :D

I don't really have the time either, which sucks because I feel like I'm wasting my money. I'm actually happy that some hyped games like Mercenaries 2 and Too Human were flops because I don't even have the time to finish what I already have.

Actually Mercs 2 was pretty fun ;)
  • I think that the biggest factor for me (other than lack of time) is that I love playing sports games too much. I'll tell myself that I'm gonna start off with a quick game of NHL 09, Madden, NBA2K9, or whatever and before I know it I've played a few and then I have to get some sleep. So basically all of the story-driven single player games get neglected because of my obsession with sports.

My copy of MGS4 has done nothing but collect dust because The Show owns my soul on the PS3... lol

No, actually I haven't really been impressed with Bond games since GoldenEye (I think that was the one) on Nintendo 64.
Funny. I picked it up on the way home last night and doesn't look or feel like COD4 at all. It looks (updated for next gen, mind you) and feels like.....Goldeneye. None too shabby either.

I don't mean to divert the topic of this thread, but I really hate starting new ones (I wish we had a gaming forum):

Can anyone suggest any good games for the PSP? I travel a lot for work and I get steady use of my PSP. I still play the last NHL installment ('07), the latest Madden, and a Gameco mix of old arcade games. Whatever your suggestions, I love to hear them. Thanks!

The only PSP games I've played are the Dark Kingdom RPG (which looked and played like Baldur's Gate for the PS2/Xbox 1) and Rainbow Six Vegas.
I love Vegas on the 360, but the control scheme on the PSP is hard to finangle with their one analog stick setup.

I recommend finding a smart person you work with. Have them hack the psp. Then have them download games for you. That's what I did :)

So we're agreed. Fifa is inferior to the locust horde.

    How's those gums?

Thanks for these suggestions. Yes, games need to be simple for them to be fun on this device. I've also played GTA Vice City Stories, The Warriors and MLB The Show. I think the NHL 07 game has been the most fun so far -- how stupid they make an update with the addictive Be a Pro mode.

My best gaming friends no longer work for my employer. I sort of keep my interests quiet around work people. My thing with work has always been, the less they know about me, the better.
