    Adam Jones singled to open the fourth and moved to third on a hit-and-run single by Luis Hernandez. Brian Roberts drove in a run with a fielder's choice grounder and stole second on a pitch-out, Melvin Mora walked and Jay Gibbons and Kevin Millar followed with RBI singles.

    I got this from the Baltimore Sun. What's a fielder's choice grounder?

    A fielder's choice is when a batter reaches safely because the fielder threw to a different base for another out. Doesn't count as a hit, but does bring an RBI.

    It is however as you were probably getting at a redundant statement. A pop up would be an out, a foul ball is a foul ball. So all fielder's choices are the result of grounders.

    I have friends in DC who have season tickets. I am a huge baseball fan, and am partial to the Nats due to my time in Virginia.
