in fairness, it's hardly my fault he comes out with such shit and here YOU are doing the derailing trying to get off topic from 'should there be a seperate sports forum'
Oh the irony
Okay there champ..haha, I have the last word, haha..well until you reply on Monday ..
'I want to hurry home to you
put on a slow, dumb show for you
and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
god I'm very, very frightening
and I'll overdo it'
that's the idea of the All Ecompassing forum - and SPORTS RULE
I'd rather read those threads on here than half the other crap that's here
What I mean is, is that other music gets another section because we like music. Why shouldn't sport get it's own forum as it's a big interest to some, unlike 'what's your favourite sandwich'.
It's not really about myself and other people finding it boring. If I liked hockey or whatever, I'd love having a whole other forum to go to, to talk about sport.

Yeah but then we'd miss some of the great threads made by the one and only MCKB

There is a seperate music section because it is a music lover's board? Just what I think.
Also, I would rather have to pass over sports threads than get sick to my stomach reading about how someone just washed their hair, or heard Ed fart in the stall next to them the other day, or how miserable they are.
Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
hate to point out the obvious, however.......none the less:
All Encompassing Trip Sports, Movies, TV, Books, Games, Career, Travel, non-Pearl Jam topics (not a chat room)
you are IN the sports section!
this is a pearl jam board, quite honestly...i think it's cool they *give* us a section for BS totally unrelated to pj at all. i see n purpose for more forumes, especially if they are totally unrelated to pj. i have zero interest in sports as well, but i find it easy enough to simply not read/post in the sport threads. simple.
I agree with the original poster.. There is a lot of sport threads on here and they should all be put in a new forum I would think. I'm a big sports fans in Australia anyway and would love to see it happen.
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

Okay, so by the same token you and soulsinging should have your own forum as well being that every thread you two participate in (which is just about all) ends up identical and usually not topic related.
Due to the events of last Friday, the above suggestion is now and going forward slightly irrelevant ..

Adam Jones singled to open the fourth and moved to third on a hit-and-run single by Luis Hernandez. Brian Roberts drove in a run with a fielder's choice grounder and stole second on a pitch-out, Melvin Mora walked and Jay Gibbons and Kevin Millar followed with RBI singles.
I got this from the Baltimore Sun. What's a fielder's choice grounder?

A fielder's choice is when a batter reaches safely because the fielder threw to a different base for another out. Doesn't count as a hit, but does bring an RBI.
It is however as you were probably getting at a redundant statement. A pop up would be an out, a foul ball is a foul ball. So all fielder's choices are the result of grounders.

No, really, I had no clue. Thanks for clearing that up! I just found out what gidp stand for from here, too.

I'll be goin g to the opening of the NATS new stadium on 3/30. I'm really excited. I've seen a game at RFK already.
You're flying all the way down here for the NATS? Is it a NATS/BOSTON game? I thought NATS were playing Orioles that day? If they are, and BRob's on the team, then I'll care. If BRob is not on the team, then I won't care
Go cubbies!

I love how some people think sports and music can't exist, as if they're mutually exclusive. Not that we don't all know this, but how 'bout the band Mookie Blaylock? Just a reminder.
This is Wiki, but what the hell:
"Daron Oshay "Mookie" Blaylock (born March 20, 1967 in Garland, Texas) is a retired American professional basketball player in the NBA...As fans of the basketball player, the band Pearl Jam was originally named "Mookie Blaylock", but they were forced to change the name. They settled on naming their debut album Ten after Blaylock's jersey number."
Hmmmm.
