4 straight quality starts, a 4 game sweep of the Brewers in there park, and total Cub domination all series. Damn glad I was there to be a part of it. It's a great time for me being a Cubs fan in Milwaukee. Lot's of baseball to go though so I'm not gonna get too carried away.

As far as Edmonds, i was extremely upset when the Cubs got him because I couldn't stand him as a Cardinal. I was skeptical of what he would do for this team cause he was playing horrible in SD. However, I can know say I've got no problem with the guy. He may well be the biggest addition we've made all year.

No question the 4 straight quality starts was huge. At best I was thinking a split or taking 3 out of 4. Picking up 4 games going into August is pretty huge. Still 2 months to go, but its a great start.

Edmonds has certainly won over most of the fans. It didn't help that he sucked in SD and sucked for the first 2 weeks on the Cubs, to the point where everyone assumed he would be cut. But then he's really turned it around. He's been that Gary Gaetti type I had mentioned before, catch lightening in a bottle and help us win some games.

There are Dback fans? Anytime I watch a game in Arizona I only see Cubs fans.

Yeah, that's what makes it so bazaar! LOL

They are pretty weak fans too. The playoff game I went to last year wasn't even sold out! Saw empty seats everywhere.
    Hahaha!

Huge win. Love the fact that MIL and STL lost as well. Let's finish this homestand strong against HOU and the STL.

  • The Cubs need to build as big a lead as they can in August because September is going to be a tough month: Only 9 home games, and 16 games against playoff contenders (Milwaukee, St Louis, Mets).

Tough L, but at least we are focusing on beating the competition, and not each other. Anyone see the Veggie Princess get into it with Manny Parra?

I figured Prince FieldGreens was just hungry and snapped.
He pictured Parra between two buns with a slice of cheese. Then his pesky teammates and coaches got in the way.
Coach Maddux: "Damn it FieldGreens, you CAN'T eat your teammates, and where did you get those chicken wings!!!"
    FieldGreens: "Need...more...food 'chomp' "

Nice comeback win yesterday. However, Bob Howry sucks. Lou came out and told him NOT to give Lee anything to hit, what does he do. First pitch high fastball that Carlos Lee crushed for a HR. Unacceptable. Everytime he pitches it's guaranteed he's giving up a run. It's time for him to not pitch in any close games.

I agree. And Scott Eyre is gone too. Both of these guys have dropped big time in productivity.

6 run leads or deficits is when Howry should be getting the call for a while.

That is what happens when I get disgusted (after the Astros 4 run inning) and stop following the game... It never fails. Maybe not 8 runs...

As should all SMART Brewer fans. I know you all hate the Cubs, but the Cubs beating the Cards gives you an opportunity to distance yourself from them in the wild card. Yes I'm sure you all want to catch the Cubs (although I don't think and sure hope it doesn't happen). You should worry about at least securing the wild card best you can.

Good luck going for 2nd place. I expect the wild card to come out of the central. It would be great to see either the Brewers or the Cards in the NLCS (against the CUBS of course)

I wish there was a game today!! I will have to settle for the Bears pre-season game tonight.
