Getting lost in CAMDEN again

Its sad that a nice venu like that is in the middle of fucking nowhere.
I drove up a little late the second night and we had to park in this one lot overlooking a fucking trash dump. There were two lots open closer to the show and they had them blocked off.
Fucking hate Camden.
Oh and to the guy who said NJ is the arm pit of America........not funny focker.Get em a Body Bag Yeeeeeaaaaa!

Yeah, I was at the Camden I show. We got lucky. We had GPS... we were in Camden maybe just a strip of the way. There was some dude running up and down the street trying to sell t-shirts and a couple hot dog vendors.... dirty houses to say the least. Its amazing though that not that far away from Camden are very nice towns of Jersey. Im from Upsstate NY and when we found that gas was cheaper (and they were full serve) and we discovered Wawah we were in heaven! I recommend a Wawah stop for everyone, killer subs!I'll ride the wave... Where it takes me0 -

I love it when people talk about Jersey! I was born and bred in South Jersey (as a matter of fact, I wore my "proud to be a jersey girl" shirt to Camden 1!).
It's 9 miles from my driveway to backstage at the Tweeter/Susquehanna, but it's like a world of difference (I live in total suburbia). I worked at the Tweeter for about 4 years and learned my way all around that part of Camden. It's nicer than other parts, but still scary for someone who isn't regularly in a place like that. I also don't understand why cops route people through the ass end of town after shows. Did you all get to see the lovely ladies of the night back by all the warehouses? Or up and down Broadway?
And wawa is a staple of my diet
ps - there are two farms in my town. South Jersey is NOT like North Jersey!rock bands may come and rock bands may go...
but rock n roll will live forever! - ray davies0 -
I don't see how you could get lost getting out... yes I know the cops take you on the long fucked up way over the Ben but why not cut the hassle and just make a right onto (shit forget the road) but towards the Walt Whitman... I've done it for many shows and both shows last week and had no problems. Now I did actually wait 30 minutes or so before leaving but still....This is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Please remove it.

I'm going to Camden for the Radiohead show. If anyone can post directions in or out that make sense, I would appreciate it. What a shitty place to have vague, confusing directions!0
-
I work down here, somewhat near Camden and live in Buffalo...
I cant believe how nice the Susquehanna/Tweeter Center is. The fact that it is in Camden puzzles me.
New Jersey does have a bad rap. Many parts of it are very nice, and I like where my company has me stay (Deptford) a lot.
Yes, Wawa is great too. The supermarkets suck, but its nice to see Wegman's moving in.
And luckily, I did not get lost leaving either show. Thank god.0 -
Oh, my heart aches at the crap Jersey Girls get - we're all not like that
This Jersey Girl moved to New England & I'll never go back, but my heart is always there - ultra suburbia upbringing, cutting school to go to down the shore, heading up to the Delaware River, beer runs to Staten Island.
Can't wait for Conn Friday & Mansfield Sat & Mon!!
Super psyched!!0 -

Just take the GW bridge (if you're coming from Philly) and follow the signs to the water front. It'll be pretty obvious from the miles of unmoving traffic which way the venue is...I smile, but who am I kidding...0 -

I will probably be arriving early and leaving during the 2nd encore, just like the last time I was there, so there won't be any traffic to follow. And I know the directions say "follow the signs to the waterfront" but last time I was there they had these little tiny pissant signs that were hard to read and I couldn't find shit. I ended up driving a little bit until I saw a line of cars entering a parking lot.
It also doesn't tell you how to get the fuck out of there. The last time I was there I couldn't find 676W so I ended up going East and doing a u-turn at some point, back to the bridge.
I looked up directions in a few places, and every one is different, of course, but I hopefully I won't have any problems. *sigh*
Which way do the cops send traffic on the way out? Should I stick with MLK or drive north to Cooper st.?0 -
Fucking nightmare getting out of there! Roads closed off for no apparent reason, roadblocks, trash, bad scene. Took 40 minutes to get back to the turnpike. With that being said I'd do it again in a heartbeat!"The leads are weak!"

The best way to go is (if cops don't send you out the back) take MLK away from the venue. Pass through a couple lights until you have Cooper Hospital on your right. You will take a left at that light. The lanes on this street shift from light to light (just to warn you). Just follow it until you see a sign for 676 and the Ben Franklin Bridge. Turn left and it dumps you on the toll booth for the bridge (the turn is just after an overpass where you can see the bridge).
When coming from Philly, if there is traffic to follow, you can take the very first exit from the bridge. If no traffic, I'd say take exit 5a. This will spin you around onto MLK blvd.rock bands may come and rock bands may go...

MLK, left on Haddon to bridge exit. Cool. Thanks.0 -
From Central Jersey.
I have attended about 20-25 shows there and I don't think I have ever got home the same way more then once. It is pretty freaking fugly when the shows end.0
