    See, I thought it was Dearing as soon as he caught the Guardians that night. I have to say, Alex never crossed my mind but I hoped so much it wasn't Reilly...

    I knew it wasn't Gunther but I had no idea he would meet the demise he did.
    Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

    ... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    Reilly never crossed my mind...I loved his character too.

    I loved all of the Catcher in the Rye references. Very rich writing.
    In the back he suggests reading Catcher, Grapes of Wrath, On the Road, The Stand..all of which I have read. But he also suggests Damnation Falls by Edward Wright and The Woods by Harlan Coben. Has anyone read those?

    In my mind he wrote because it came naturally to him, he was destined to write, his teacher helped bring about his awareness of it, but it was there all along.

    No, I meant BEFORE the ACCIDENTAL reading of a line on the last page happened... :rolleyes::p;)

    I think Ellory did a good job at keeping us guessing for a long time, even though Dearing was always in the back of my mind.
    i suspected everyone... alex seemed kind of detached from the whole thing...you didn't hear much about her reaction despite the fact she had a lot of the girls in class...so she was a suspect in my mind. as was reilly. i never thought it was gunther either. that would've been too obvious, i think.
