I have a big appetite but I don't seem to gain weight. I guess I should enjoy it while it lasts. My grandfather was a big eater and was never fat, my father was always thin, skinny actually. Recently he started eating heaps of crap, not literally of course, and he drinks a lot of alcohol, this is not a recent thing, however. He has gained weight but not so much.
Either way, I don't have anything relevant to say except if anyone here suggests pot I would advise against it THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG! THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG!

yeah this post was about as useful as having a snooze button on a smoke alarm. oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0

:eek:CityMouse wrote:me either. I used to weigh myself every day and then starve for a day is I was up a half pound in water weight. I went to the doctor yesterday and the nurse insisted on weighing me. I argued with her because I have read from credible sources that if you don't want to be weighed at the doctor you don't have to be (if you are otherwise healthy, there's no reason the doctor needs your weight). She finally let me stand on the scale backwards.
 I don't understand this.
Just get on the scale.Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
 And I don't feel right when you're gone away0

todays top tip: even if you stand on a scale backwards you still weigh the same.

Live as we were born to live. Natural, fresh foods, fresh air, water and lots and lots of wine.
Tell the missus I prescribed it.
Just for the love of Garfield, don't take those appetite suppressants pills that are full of caffeine. They just make people grouchy.Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome

well, it's a mental thing. if you've had mental issues with weight since childhood like I have, weighing yourself can have reprocussions with your psyche. I pretty much know how much I weigh. But if I get on the scale and it's gone up due to getting my period or whatever, it can send me into a funk for weeks, and I'll stop working out and everything. I need POSITIVE reinforcement when it comes to this- if I think I'm losing weight I'll continue doing healthy things, but if I've gained weight, I give up (as I mentioned, I screwed up my metabolism, and now gain extremely easily and can't lose anything). The last time I weighed myself was a few months ago. I had lost my appetite for a while and was having great workouts, so I thought I'd weigh myself, I felt thinner and I thought it would be positive reinforcement. Well anyway, I had actually gained 4 pounds. It was extremely depressing and made me feel like I have no control over my body (I actually may not, getting that checked out in 2 months!)
Actually, when I was in college, if you got a checkup at the campus health center, they would MAKE you stand on the scale backwards and not tell you the results. there were too many girls with eating disorders on campus. there are a LOT of books out now that just busting the conventional wisdom about these issues and instructing people not to weigh themselves. the thought is that the reason people are overweight is because from birth you're taught to obsess about it and it has the opposite effect for many psychological reasons. obvisously, this happens for some people and not others. But I will say, that everyone I know who is happy with their weight and not worried about was never restricted as a child.0
