That's a total Southern thing, isn't it? My mom is a Dr Pepper junkie (and so is the rest of her family) and she's from Arkansas.

I'm not buying this. People just like something to blame shit on. Leave the fizzy drinks alone already if they screw with you.....you'll soon see it's not the drinks.
People need to get some perspective, watch their diet better, take more rest, and more importantly in most cases, more excercise.....stop using these products as excuses. Wimps :o It's pop for crying out loud !!
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

I certainly can't imagine 2 or 3 Dr Pepper's having much of an effect. I regularly realise I have slept in til 5 minutes before my seminars, run out of bed and stop at the shop to buy 4 cans of Red Bull to wake me up. I never get as hopped up as you'd expect considering that stuff has a LOT more caffeine than Dr Pepper or any regular soft drink.

I do think that people who drink a lot of caffeine regularly probably do develop some sort of physical dependance on it. I drink about 5 cups of tea a day and a lot more fizzy drinks than I'd care to admit. I don't go about saying "oh christ, I need a caffeine fix, I'm well addicted I am" but if I cut it out completely all of a sudden then I'd probably notice some sort of change.

Oh and by the way Jamie, why is it that, whenever you call me clever, I feel you are being sarcastic/slightly mocking? :p I don't mean to come across as a smart-ass. I get the impression you think I'm a bit full of myself, and I'm not. Honest :)

I don't know if that has a whole hell of alot of caffiene in it!! You need a coca cola or Dr. Pepper or a big cup of coffee!! :)

one 12 oz. can of Dr. Pepper has 39 mg of caffeine. A 12 oz. iced tea has 70 mg of caffeine. Almost twice as much and 0 calories. :D
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

I dont understand how people can be addicted to caffeine. I also thought that soda was the easiest thing to cut out of my diet.

I'm right there with you! If I sleep in on the weekends, I wake up with a headache because I haven't had my usual massive quantities of caffeine. I'm trying to cut down too.

p.s. the body does develop a physiologic addiction to caffeine if you drink it consistently.

It also makes your ta ta's more sensitive!! SERIOUSLY!! :)

I can't LIVE without two or three Dr. Pepper's a day!! I get cranky, and I get a headache.....
I tried to quit drinking coffee once
    yeah, major headache!
I drink Bustelo in the morning and depending on the day I get either a Dr Pepper or a Diet Coke. I prefer the taste of that to regular, for some reason.

If I have to be up super early (ie: I work all day Saturdays) I need a BIG cup of coffee.

I don't understand, this day and age, how anybody can think caffeine is not addictive. I drink coffee everyday. everyday... if I'm late getting my coffee, I get a headache and a general miserable feeling all over. It's no big deal, coffee is good for you, so I'm happy to be addicted. I think anybody that says it's not addictive hasn't or doesn't drink it daily?

It does nothing for me, I could sleep immediately after having a soda or coffee. I think people just want to be addicted to something.
