17 year locust are awesome. They are cool looking. We had them here in Maryland in '04, my dog liked to eat the shells that they shed after emerging from the ground.

lol....
I really don't get freaked out by bugs. I have seen this bigass spider in my house a couple of times but it's not bothering me so whatever...plus it's bad luck to kill them. These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.0 -

and then my cats would chase them around for HOURS but wouldn't kill them. One weekend my ex was out of town and one broke into the house...and I called my mom to come rescue me at 3am
I wouldn't go back home until it was fully exterminated. We found out where they were coming in and blocked it up. Block up any openings around pipes in the kitchen - that's usually how they come in.

Are you using good old mouse traps or some of those new fangled traps?
I can remember sitting downstairs at my folks house watching TV or playing video games and here a trap go off in the kitchen and racing upstairs to see if we got one.
Luckily, I haven't had any problems with mice at any of my places.d'oh0 -

yikes...........
must be a guy thing because there were many drunk men in this area that were daring each other to eat them.
I am out on the bug thing. I am so intimidated by anything with guts. If I can just step on it and get rid of them, then it's ok. But once it has guts, well then it no longer is a bug to me but instead a small rodent.Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on The Creek......

Borrow a bunch of cats from the pound. That'll take care of your mice, and you'll be doing something nice for the cats. Problem solved

The only thing that ever bothered me was this flying beetle.

They are fairly large and it always seemed to me that they were dive bombing me. Hated them, but they were only around our fig and peach trees so I just avoided those when they were out."I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." Yeeek! That's the ugliest beatle I've seen since Ringo Starr came to town.

save the bugs?
Oh God now I don't like killing bugs either but what can you do,
I've had ants,
I've told the story on here that I got a bedbug infestation
I get long crawly things, spiders,
stuff I don't even know what it is.
And in the summer, I get big buzzy flies
I got ONE rodent and I didn't sleep here for a few days. I don't know if it was a rat or a mouse
when I was growing up, our house was on the water and we got a mouse and my stepfather trapped it with a sticky trap and peanut butter, and he sent it on his way down the canal
btw, do you guys ever find yourself wanting to use these emoticons in your e-mails to people and then you're like, oh, wait.... or is it just me?"...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

This discussion makes me miss my Dad. When I was younger and had just moved out, if there was a cockroach at my apartment, I'd call him, he'd drive over from his house and kill it for me. Fortunately I married a bug killer. I grew up in the South and the man kills the bug. That's just the way it is.R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.

I've always been the bug killer in my house.
I was never afraid of them (bees, hornets, etc.) until we moved to Texas...and then I did get a bit shrill with the HUGE palmetto bugs! (Squeals were actually heard.)
I found the only way to catch them (because they were so big and fast) was to suck them up in the vacuum.I haven't seen bugs as big anywhere else but perhaps I haven't lived in another hot and humid environment.

i cant kill cockroaches because i cant stand the thought of their guts all over the floor - i make my son pick them up with a tissue and flush them down the loo
spiders - i make someone try to catch them and let them go outside - i dont want to kill them, they just arent allowed to live in the house. if theses no one to catch them ill vacuum them up with the longest hose i can find, because i cant go near them
i also vacuum flys because i hate bug killer sprayed around
and back to cockroaches - i heard once about this funny baiting recipe, but never tried it because of the guts problem...
you get some bread and soak it in beer; leave it out where the cockies are, and they'll come and eat it; and because apparently they are unable to fart, they'll blow up - literally blow up! problem solvedimpatience is a gift ........0 -

OMG, they have them in Florida too. My Mom had one in her condo, came out of nowhere, it was on the wall and I was screaming myself
It looked like a giant leach
It was SOOOO big. I was spraying it
and I think I got it with a shoe? I showed it to my mom in the other room. Man that thing was BIG."...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

do they call them "palmettos" like they do in Florida? You know, like high class cockroaches?Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on The Creek......

We called them a pain in the a**! Seriously, we just called them peach beetles because that's where they hung out. I had to google to find them. It's been awhile and I'm glad. Really did hate them.
