Sorry about your shoes Jeanie. I love puppies. He didn't know they were your favorite shoes
WHen I was little we had a Golden retriever and he chewed up our whole wooden deck. So my parents gave him back to the kennel

No he's not getting enough exercise but until he learns to like walking outside when it's raining I'm really not sure what he wants me to do about it.
If he keeps this up he's gonna find himself in one of them dodgy doggy raincoats all dressed up like a fool and getting his paws wet!!!
NOPE!!!

Well he's not going any where but he'd better learn to leave my shoes alone real quick or there might be some wet paws in his future!!!

Maybe he's bored? Or losing his hearing (ala Ladybird Hill on King of the Hill)? Charley and Remy started wrecking our bed while we were at work. We have one of those memory foam mattress pads, and one of the clawed their way into it and left big gouges in it. They're bored, we think...despite the 10 billion expensive chew toys...we're thinking of doggy daycare a couple of times a week and at least one big long bike ride per week.
But Charley was particularly bad this weekend and cocked his leg all over my new, just out of the house for the first time, Laird Hamilton SUP board...I guess it's now my SUPee board. For sure it's better to be pissed off than to be pissed on (and I've been saying that since I was in grade eight, not because Ed said it once)...be philanthropic0 -

Oh he's bored alright. He keeps coming in and flopping down at my feet and letting out a huge sigh.

But I throw the ball for him and tug on the other end of the chew rope and when there's a break in the weather I play chasey with him in the back yard. And there's chew snacks and cuddling on the couch watching tele and all kinds of hugs and kisses during the day. He's got toys. I'm really starting to think he's just spoiled perhaps?

We do that with our mutts, but apparently they like to be outside their yard and having new experiences...our yard is fairly large and we chase them around everyday and throw "bagels for them", but the need to be out of the yard. We didn't have this problem at our other place because it was in 200 acres of undeveloped forest land...So they were out all time chasing rabbits and field mice, etc. Now, of course, a lot of that land is developed and other parts are impossible to get to....
but yeah... nice big runs is what dogs like....and maybe some swimming...'cept Charley cant swim and it always ends up in a big rescue mission...and other dogs laugh at him, cuz, well, he can't dog paddle...be philanthropic0 -

Teething should be well and truly over by now, shouldn't it???
: D
I guess not:D You have to show the dog you're dominant... according to the dog whisperer.;) Then again, all that guy ever does (atleast in the episodes that I've seen) is just take the dog for a walk
His big secret is that he walks ahead of the dog instead of letting the dog lead the way. There... that should solve everything:D Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.0 -
Haven't read the whole thread, but as an owner of 6 cats, all I can say is its just like kids. If you don't want animals to damage something, put it out of their reach, like put your shoes in a closet they can't open.R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.
